SYNOPSIS:
While other known universes are connected by relatively stable meta-spatial
relationships, the Drifting World is adrift in the multiverse, connected
to nothing. This particular bubble of reality contains a small and unusual,
if simply described, universe. It consists of a rough disk (actually a slightly
convex lens) containing central and rim land masses and an ocean covering
most of the upper face. The lens is surrounded by epicycles carrying celestial
bodies. The natives are of little help answering the questions of cosmologists,
but its political situation is proving interesting. The central continent
is littered with the remnants of past empires and millenia of conflicts
which are still playing themselves out, and the universe itself may be on
the verge of a major transformation.
