Lynn Minmei

- Minmei is a beautiful young girl, who is but a resident of Macross
Island. She gets tangled up in the first battle with the Zentraedi, but
Rick Hunter, who is but a amateur pilot at that time, ends up saving her
life. Here on after, Minmei becomes the main love interest of Rick, as
they spend some time together; especially when they get trapped in a unknown
part of the SDF-1 after it's space fold to Pluto. Minmei quickly becomes
a big star, after winning the Miss Macross Contest and leaves Rick to pursue
her singing and acting career. After the SDF-1 returns to Earth, Minmei
meets up with her cousin Lynn Kyle, who becomes her manager. As Minmei
and Kyle start to spend more time together, Kyle would start to fall in
love with his own cousin, even wanting to propose marriage to Minmei, but
nothing ever happens. On the day of Earth's destruction Minmei sings the
song "We Will Win"; with her inspirational singing the Defense Forces counter
attack, and there was no doubt that, We Would Win! Soon after, Minmei's
career falls apart and tries to come back to Rick for support. But this
doesn't work, since at that time, Rick is very much in love with Lisa Hayes.
Minmei would end up continuing her singing career with a friend and in
"The Sentinels" movie sings at Rick and Lisa's wedding.
