Farm life in Harvest Moon

Farm, sweet farm... there's no place like farm... etc.

Get used to it-you'll be living a long time in your house. Good thing you've got your veggies, your horse, dog, cow, and chicken.... not to mention a color TV!

<bgsound src="hmmount.mid" loop=infinite>

First, your house. If you can manage to get 2,500 GP and chop 250 pieces of wood, you can promote your house. With this enlarging, you can buy a blue feather from the peddler on Sunday. With this, you can marry! With 5,000 GP and 500 pieces of wood, as well as this evolved house, you can get the Super deluxe house, which allows you to have kids. The TV prediction is always accurate, so see tommorow's forecast ahead of time. Your diary saves the game. Bring your dog inside on rainy days, make him happy. ^^ Your wife leaves the house at 9 or 10 o' clock, so don't look for her there too late into the day.

Ever so homely..

Next, the crops! In Spring, you can grow Turnips and Potatoes. In Summer, Tomatos and Corn. Quick spoiler, if you harvest over 200 of any of these crops, you get an ending scene with it! Anyway, Turnips grow the fastest of all crops, but barely give you any money. Potatoes grow a few days slower but give you a lot more money. Tomatos grow a lot longer than Spring crops, but give you even more money, and you don't have to replant. Corn takes even longer than tomatos, but you get a ton of money-twice as much as Turnips. With Tomatos and Corn, you don't have to replant, and after a harvest, it takes only three days for them to regrow. The best way to harvest is the following:

 o

XoX

X detonates a place where crops are. o is a space where none are, as is a blank. o is where you should use the sprinkler. With the watering can, this is still a quick method. Now, for the chart below, we assume that you have enough seeds that as soon as a plot is harvested, you have the seeds for the next. Meaning that, right as soon as you harvest your, say, turnips, you instantly plant another (so you don't get stuck on, like, Sunday or Saturday when the flower shop is closed). Also note, it's impossible to harvest all nine squares every day for a month, so only the profit for 8 squares is shown. When I say "squares", I mean hoed places with seeds in them.

Spring crops:

Turnips \ Potatos
Time to grow: 4 days / 6 days
Price per crop: 60 GP \ 80 GP
Price per bag: 200 GP / 200 GP
Replant: Yes \ Yes
Price for 8 squares: 480 GP / 640 GP
Price for 9 squares: 540 GP \ 720 GP
Profit on 8 squares: 280 GP / 480 GP
Profit on 9 squares: 340 GP \ 520 GP
Profit for month on 8: 1,960 GP/ 2,400 GP

Summer crops:

Tomatos \ Corn
Time to grow: 10 days / 13 days
Price per crop: 100 GP \ 120 GP
Price per bag: 300 GP / 300 GP
Replant: No \ No
Price for 8 squares: 800 GP / 960 GP
Price for 9 squares: 900 GP \ 1,080 GP
Profit on 8 squares: 500 GP / 660 GP
Profit on 9 squares: 600 GP \ 780 GP
Profit for month on 8: 6,100 GP/ 7, 140 GP

And there ya have it! The profit on 8 and 9 squares shows for the 1st-all crops after that give you full profit... like, the FIRST harvesting of tomatoes gives you 500 GP, but the next harvest and so forth give you a good 800 GP. Oh, and I DID make this chart, By the way, just used the PRE action so it would be properly spaced.

Grass never needs replanting. It lives under the snow during winter, except you can't cut it. You can cut it from Spring to Fall, though. You need grass for livestock. Grass doesn't need to be watered, and instead of being harvested, it's cut with the sickle. It's 500 GP a bag, but it's the only planting you'll ever need to do.

I'd rather be fishin'
