This exhaustively written down page was made by myself. It includes White Magic, Black Magic, Call Magic, Twins, and Blitzes!
First up is White Magic. This can be casted by Note that Cecil can only learn "Cure", "Cure2", "Heal", "Exit", "Peep", and "Sight". Tellah learns no spells through leveling, but instead gains them all after Cecil becomes a Paladin. Cure1: 3 MP. Rosa: N/A. Cecil: N/A. Porom: N/A. Rydia: Level 3. This recovers lost HP to either one person or the whole party. This will start out incredibly weak, but once Rosa and some others start using it, later on in the game, you'll be impressed at how much you can cure. It can also be used against undead enemies like skeletons, but it's weak. Cure2: 9 MP. Rosa: Level 13. Cecil: Level 15. Porom: Level 13. This is much better. It recovers lost HP, but more than Cure1. It can also deal damage to the undead, but it's weak. Cure3: 18 MP. Rosa: Level 28. Porom: Level 33. This can cure a *lot*, but it's expensive. Use Cure1 or Cure2 out of battle, Cure3 in. It can also be used against the undead, and it's a bit powerful. Cure4: 40 MP. Rosa: Level 38. Porom: Level 48. This fully recovers one character's HP, or *really* recovers a LOT for the full party. One of these is definetly enough for characters with low HP, like Rydia and Rosa. It also does quite a bit of damage to the undead. Sight: 2 MP. Rosa: N/A. Cecil: Level 3. Porom: N/A. Rydia: Level 4. Allows you to see a lot of the map around you, when in the overworld screen. Useful the first time through the game, but later, useless. Use if lost, definetly. Size: 6 MP. Rosa: Level 29. Porom: Level 31. Cures your own character of the Size condition, or Sizes an enemy. The enemy's attack will greatly drop, defense will greatly drop, but it'll still be able to cast magic. Bersk: 18 MP. Rosa: Level 20. Porom: Level 18. Greatly increases either a monster or an ally's attack, but there's two problems. A slight (very slight) drop in defense, and, much more importantly, you can't control the character. Not at all. He or she will automatically use the 'Fight' command on a random opponent. Life1: 8 MP. Rosa: Level 11. Porom: Level 11. Cures the swooned condition when one's HP drops to 0. Useful! And surprisingly low cost. Life2: 52 MP. Rosa: Level 42. Porom: Level 56.Cures the swooned condition when one's HP drops to 0, and also brings his or her HP to max. Good attack, but an INCREDIBLE drain of MP. Use only on characters with REALLY high HP, like Kain and Cecil. Peep: 1 MP. Rosa: N/A. Cecil: Level 8. Porom: N/A. Analyze an opponent or ally for HP, MP, and weaknesses. Quite useful, but doesn't work on bosses. Ugh. Wall: 30 MP. Rosa: Level 34. Porom: Level 44. Reflect magic spells back. Useful! If an enemy has a knack for casting spells on you, simply Wall one of your characters, and any spells casted on him/her will reflect back. Be warned that already 'reflected' spells cannot be re-reflected, and also that cure spells will reflect too. Heal: 20 MP. Rosa: Level 18. Cecil: Level 24. Porom: Level 20. Depletes all bad conditions except for Swoon, such as Poison and Curse. Mute: 6 MP. Rosa: Level 15. Porom: Level 15. Cures Mute to any of your allies, or silences an enemy. This enemy, if it works, will not be able to cast any magic spells. Kinda useful, though innacurate. Often can render an enemy almost useless. Hold: 5 MP. Rosa: N/A. Porom: N/A. Rydia: Level 7. Cures the Hold condition, or paralyzed an enemy, making it unable to attack for a few turns. Not bad. Charm: 10 MP. Rosa: Level 24. Porom: Level 25. Cures the Charm condition, or confuses an enemy. The root of all evil if used on an ally, almost useless when used on an opponent. The Charmed victim will Cure, Heal, etc etc characters on the OPPONENT's side, and attack, and cast magic upon their allies. A HIT, but not magic, will cure this. Slow: 14 MP. Rosa: N/A. Porom: N/A. Makes an enemy really, REALLY slow to attacking. Like, you can get three hits per the enemy's one. ^^ Fast: 25 MP. Rosa: Level 30. Porom: Level 38. Makes a character REALLY fast. Excellent if used with Bersk, for an attack almost every other turn. Blink: 8 MP. Rosa: Level 23. Porom: Level 23. An ally automatically dodges the next two physical attacked against him/her. Great if used for Cecil, for he'll run over to an injured character, and block the attack, but it'll be a miss. Float: 8 MP. Rosa: Level 32. Porom: Level 40. You won't get hurt by damage spots on the ground. Also, Quake spells are uneffective. Exit: 10 MP. Rosa: N/A. Cecil: Level 19. Porom: Level 19. Escape from a cave or dungeon, or exit a battle. White: 46 MP. Rosa: Level 49. Porom: Level 52. One of the only spells that can actually deal damage (hey, Cure can deal damage to the undead), this is a MUCH more powerful spell than you might think. It emits a bunch of pure white bubblish things towards the opponent, and few enemies won't be blasted for severe damage rivaling even Rydia's calls. Next is-duh!-Black magic. Black magic can be used by . Tellah learns no spells through leveling, but instead learns 'em all when Cecil becomes a Paladin. Rydia doesn't learn Fire1 until she reaches Mt. Hobbs. Fire1: 5 MP. Rydia: N/A. Palom: N/A. Emits a small fire spell, burning the target. Useful on undead or ice monsters. Fire2: 15 MP. Rydia: N/A. Palom: Level 12. Emits a medium fire spell, incinerating the target. Useful on undead or ice enemies. Fire3: 30 MP. Rydia: Level 40. Palom: Level 33. Emits a strong fire spell, exploding the target. Useful on undead or ice enemies. Ice1: 5 MP. Rydia: Level 2. Palom: N/A. Blasts a small ice spell, chilling the target. Useful on fire monsters. Ice2: 15 MP. Rydia: N/A. Palom: Level 11. Blasts a medium ice spell, freezing the target. Useful on fire monsters. Ice3: 30 MP. Rydua: Level 38. Palom: Level 32. Blasts a strong ice spell, blizzarding the target. Useful on fire monsters. Lit1: 5 MP. Rydia: Level 3. Palom: N/A. Summons a small electric spell, shocking the target. Useful on ground or water monsters. Lit2: 15 MP. Rydia: N/A. Palom: Level 13. Summons a medium electric spell, zapping the target. Useful on ground or water monsters. Lit3: 30 MP. Rydia: Level 42. Palom: Level 34. Summons a strong electric spell, frying the target. Useful on ground or water monsters. Venom: 2 MP. Rydia: Level 10. Palom: N/A. Poisons an enemy. Immune against the undead. Piggy: 7 MP. Rydia: Level 20. Palom: Level 11. Cures the Pig condition, or turns an enemy into a pig. A pig has normal attack, but lowered defense, can't use special abilities, and can cast only Piggy. Toad: 7 MP. Rydia: Level 13. Palom: Level 22. Cures the Toad condition, or turns an enemy into a toad. EVIL attack. Incredibly low attack, even worse defense, can't use special abilities, and can cast only Toad. Stone: 15 MP. Rydia: Level 46. Palom: Level 36. Turns a target to stone. If casted on enemies, they're instantly defeated unless a monster ally heals them, which is quite unlikely. Sleep: 12 MP. Rydia: Level 8. Palom: N/A. Puts a target to sleep. It cannot attack, or do ANYTHING for a few turns. A direct hit, not including magic, will wake that target up. Stop: 9 MP. Rydia: Level 15. Palom: Level 14. Similar to the Hold spell, it stops an enemy, rendering it unable to attack or do anything for a few turns. Quake: 30 MP. Rydia: Level 44. Palom: Level 23. A powerful Earth spell, affecting all enemies, but useless on flying enemies. Unlike Final Fantasy 3, this attack will NOT also hurt you. Weak: 25 MP. Rydia: Level 48. Palom: Level 48. Incredibly powerful attack, renders a monster's HP down to a single digit, 1-9. You can pair this with Venom, too. Most enemies are immune, though. Drain: 18 MP. Rydia: Level 35. Palom: Level 26. Drains a target's HP. You will drain however much HP you have until your max. Meaning that if you have 200/210 HP, you will drain 10 HP. If you have 10/210, you'll gain a whopping 200 HP. Fun. Don't you DARE cast it on the undead. Psych: 0 MP. Rydia: Level 31. Palom: Level 40. Drains a target's MP. You'll drain however much MP you need to reach the max. Quite useful, indeed. Don't even think about casting it on the undead. Fatal: 35 MP. Rydia: Level 49. Palom: Level 46. Instantly kills an enemy. Virus: 20 MP. Rydia: Level 26. Palom: Level 19. Poisons an enemy, like Venom, but also deals significant damage. Heals the undead, though. Nuke: 50 MP. Rydia: Level 50. Palom: Level 52. Incredibly powerful explosion spell. Warp: 4 MP. Rydia: Level 12. Palom: Level 29. Escape from battle, or teleport to a room you were last in. Meteo: 99 MP. Rydia: Level 60. Palom: Level 50. The ultimate spell, deals 9999 damage to all enemies. Next is a REAL quick list, Twin Magic. Only and can use this. It zaps MP from BOTH of the twins. Both attacks hit all enemies. Flare comes about 3/4 of the time, Comet the other 1/4. If one of the kids is swoon, the other cannot cast this. Flare: 10 MP. Palom: N/A. Porom: N/A. Powerful attack that eliminates most enemies. Comet: 20 MP. Palom: N/A. Porom: N/A. Even more powerful attack that creams most enemies. Blitz Magic is next on the list. These spells are casted only by . Flame: 15 MP. Edge: N/A. Shoots a blast of flames at all the enemies. Flood: 20 MP. Edge: N/A. Blasts a large flood of water at all enemies. Blitz: 25 MP. Edge: N/A. Summons a huge field of electricity to zap all enemies. Pin: 5 MP. Edge: Level 27. 'Hold's an enemy. Image: 6 MP. Edge: Level 38. Same as casting Blink on Edge. Smoke: 10 MP. Edge: Level 33. Auto-escape from battle. Call Magic would be our final test of magic, and this can be used by and . When Rydia grows up, she'll have Titan, Mist, Chocobo, Shiva, Indra, and Jinn. Little Rydia has only Chocobo. Chocobo: 7 MP. Hits one enemy with a physical chocobo attack. Mist: 20 MP. Hits all enemies with a mist attack that is neither water nor ice, despite what it looks like. Jinn: 30 MP. Hits all enemies with a fire attack. Shiva: 30 MP. Hits all enemies with an ice attack. Indra: 30 MP. Hits all enemies with a lightning attack. Titan: 40 MP. Hits all ground-bound enemies with a powerful earth attack. Imp: 1 MP. Hits one enemy with a physical imp attack. Fight Imps to earn this call. Bomb: 10 MP. Hits one enemy with a bomb attack. Fight Bombs to earn this call. Mage: 18 MP. Hits one enemy with a magical Mage attack. Fight Mages to earn this call. Sylph: 25 MP. Hits one enemy with a sprite attack. All of the allies gain the amount of damage dealt. Meaning if you have a team of 5 people, and Rydia uses Sylph on one enemy, and it does 20 damage (it'll do more!), 20 damage will be dealt, AND Rydia and her friends will each gain 4 HP. Find Yang in the Underworld, head to his home castle of Fabul, talk to his wife to get the frying pan, go back to Yang, and whack him on the head (!) to get this call. Asura: 50 MP. Does a random curing effect on ALL allies-Life 1, Cure 3, or Cure 4. Find this in the Land of Summoned Monsters (hint to defeat Asura-cast Wall on her!) by defeating Asura. Leviatan: 50 MP. Hits all enemies with a water attack. Find this in the land of Summoned Monsters by defeating Leviatan. Odin: 45 MP. Defeats all enemies instantly (isn't 100% accurate). Find this in Baron Castle after defeating Odin. Bahamut: 60 MP. Hits all enemies with a VERY powerful flare attack. Find on the moon in Bahamut's cave by defeating Bahamut. And.. that's.. it.
