Well, sure, crops and plants are all fine and dandy, but is your wife simply not enough company? Worry not! This is a guide for all of your animal needs.
Your trusty dog! ^^ Holding him makes you happier. Also, he'll scare off wolves... sometimes. ^^() Ellen gives him to you on the 2nd day of Spring, 1st year. She named him Koro. Other than that, he doesn't do much.. ^^() Ever thought the crops were simply too long to ship? Well, here's an idea. Get a horse. Where, you say? In the 1st year, on the 1st of Winter, he'll be right outside your farm. You even get to name him! After about 20 days, he'll have a pack on him. Fortunetly, you'll get him in winter, so you can start using him as soon as you like in spring. He requires no food or brushing. Not bad! Cows! By the end of the second year, cows will give you more money every day than a harvest of 2 crops of corn. They're great. But, unfortunetly, they're expensive, long, and hard to care for. You buy them at the livestock dealer's place for 5,000 GP. You'll need about 200 plots of grass (ouch) to get your first cow. After that, it goes up little by little. You can hold up to 12 cows. There's a lot of load time when you have 10 or more, though, so you may want to keep only about 5. It saves time and grass that way. By the 11th or 12th cow, I had 999 pieces of grass and he STILL wouldn't give me a cow, so I simply used an interested method. Try impregnating the cows with a special potion. Unfortunetly, pregnant cows give no milk. And with baby cows (calves, right?), unlike a bought one, it takes 21 days for it to reach stage 2, then 21 more days to reach stage 3. Store bought cows start out on stage 2. However, baby cows give off better milk, and it's also cheaper to buy potion. However, I advise buying until you can't anymore. :) Lemme see, what else... ah, yes, talk to them and brush them everyday, along with feeding them.. If there's a hurricaine, unfortunetly, you'll miss brushing and feeding them, and they may get sick. Cure them quickly with the livestock dealer's medicine. Hmm... oh, of course, if you run out of grass, you can buy a pack of 12 feedings for 300 GP at the livestock dealer's home. Expensive, 'eh? Hmm.. oh, milk prices. I believe they are 100 GP for a small (so.. TINY), 150 or 200 GP for a medium (I'm sorry I don't know exactly) and 350 GP for a large one (it's HUGE!!). I'm pretty sure that's it. The bell calls them. Oh, and the brush costs 800 GP, the Milker is 1,600 GP. You can take your animals outside instead of feeding them the fodder you cut, you can bring 'em out. Make sure you don't leave 'em in the rain, snow, or hurricaine! DEFINETLY now the hurricaine! Also make sure the fences stay repaired. What?? 5,000 GP for a cow?! No THANK you! Is there anything cheaper? Well, of course! Try chickens. You can buy them for 1,000 GP, yet you'll only need one. Why? Because these chickens lay eggs, which can turn into chicks if incubated! And they're easy to take care of. Simply feed them. If you put an egg in the incubator, 3 days later, a chick will emerge. After a week, that chick will become a chicken. Use that chicken's egg to make another, and so forth. You can use the eggs for profit (50 GP each, and a good present for Ellen), or sell the chickens for 500 GP each! And all because you paid a simple 1,000 GP for one. Isn't that great? You can hold up to 12, and these's less load time. Sometimes chickens get in your way, though. -_- Remember, they require no talking or brushing! ^^ You can take chickens out, too. They're more portable than cows! Well, isn't that great? Good luck with your farm! Go to the Harvest Moon section Back to the Rainy Circle © 1997 starpeppy@hotmail.com This page hosted by Get your own Free Home Page
