The Beginning of the Apocolypse 2

Quark consumed his last breath. Only sadness and pain fill his eyes as Ghaleon walks away from him. He feels he has failed before passing on an item of value to someone, but does not know who. His head drops with a thud; only echoes are heard.

Ghaleon runs away in laughter and knows now only the Goddess is left.

Time passes and the days on Lunar grow ever so shorter. The frontier is alive with the Vile Tribe and its destruction. The weather changes to a colder climate. A plague strikes Pao, only this time no one can stop it. Taban slaves have completed the Grindery and the day of reckoning draws near. Many go to the shrines and pray for the Goddess' assistance.

"Althena...Althena we beg for your help."

"Merciful Althena, please save us."

"Vanquish the evil from our planet, oh Goddess."

But silence from the heavens prevails. She has already been captured by Ghaleon and taken prisoner in the Grindery, where he begins to work on her will. Laike hears of this predicament, and feels both guilty and pity for his once beloved friend. "Ghaleon, I am sorry you had to turn out like this. All your pride and humanity is lost. If I only did more to stop you back at the white dragon's cave, maybe this wouldn't have happened."

He then continues on with his daily chores as he always did in the haunted forest. Then, a vision appears within the clouds. It calls to him silently, and he is drawn to the sky above, "Goddess.......?"

"Now, Goddess Althena, heed my command. Turn your pure light to blazing power and decimate all who oppose me."

The Grindery aims its target toward the flying city of Vane, his first victim. Her mind is now completely controlled by him. She does what he commands. The Grindery stops in the middle of a valley. A beam of immeasurable power explodes out of it and pierces the sky as it nears Vane. A direct hit rocks the whole city's foundation and sends the city screaming toward Lunar. People below it are running frantically as the shadow of the city keeps up with them. One unlucky person gets his shirt caught on a tree and tries to rip it free.

"Oh my Goddessss! I've got to get away from here! The city is falling too fast...can't escape! Oh...oh.....noooooooooooooooooo!"

START MUSIC

"Ahhhhh!!", screams Mia as she us suddenly awakened by the horrible nightmare, "My Goddess, Vane, Mom!"

This scream awakens Jessica and Kyle, who were in some sort of deep hypnotic sleep, and Alex and Nash, who dozed off for a while due to exhaustion.

"What are you talking about?", Nash inquires, "What do you mean that Vane has fallen?"

"It's true, Nash. I saw it in a vision a few minutes ago. It was horrible....horrible" Tears begin to populate her cheekbones.

Mia frantically looks around the mysterious room they are imprisoned in. Skeletons lay everywhere, some still locked up in their chains. The air is musty and putrid. Water droplets are heard everywhere as the randomly drop from the leaky ceiling above. Bats are also heard off in the distance.

"Jess...Jessica, are you alright?"

"Fine, Kyle."

A smile rises from the Nanza warrior's face.

Another few minutes pass and all are explaining their story, while Mia is still in a state of shock, with Nash trying to calm her down.

Kyle continues, "And as I began to see smoke near the town that Jessica was in, I ran to see what went wrong. Then Ghaleon stepped in, only, it wasn't Ghaleon, he was changed. Very evil looking."

Jessica finished by telling the group that she was teleported but minutes before that. Mia was visited within her room in Vane as she was praying to Althena, "and before I knew it he appeared behind me. He looked so scary. It was hard to tell it was him at first, because his face changed to a more...more...oh Nash, poor mother!", and she begins crying again.

Alex and Nash tell their halves and all eventually come to an agreement that Mia's prophecy does sound quite true. Unfortunately, they were helpless.

"Don't worry, someone is bound to find us sooner or later.", Kyle speaks with confidence, only to really feel desperate inside, "And who was that caped figure before? He was the one who locked us up."

"Wish I knew, Kyle, wish I knew." Depressingly says Alex, his and others' hopes all but remained now, as this could very well be the end......

Ghaleon stands tall atop the Goddess's tower now, looking over the world he has destroyed and planned to create anew. He removes his helmet and twists his head to get the circulation moving again.

"Ouch...damn helmet is too tight. Can't think properly all the time with it on. My vengeance is complete. But why do I feel so empty, so in vain?" These thoughts flow through his head constantly, failing to find the answer he seeks. "Whatever the reason is, it's of no importance anymore."

"Well done, Ghaleon.", a clapping Magus compliments as he appears next to him.

"Yes. Now that my mission is done, you may entail to your domination."

Magus smiles a bit and disappears again.
