What is Thieves World?
Thieves World is a text-based MUD (multi-user dungeon) where adventurers from around the world could brave to the unknown to find magical items, and armors.
Is there any rules in Thieves World?
Yes, in order to maintain peace and order between players, the Immortals have created rules. Please read the POLICY below :
- Thieves World is a no pkilling, pstealing, plooting mud.
Intentional offences will lead to penalties, deletion, or banning.
- We understand that correctly applied player killing can
actually enhance a mud's atmosphere in the realm of reality and interest.
However, repeatedly some players have taken the idea that no official rule
on pkilling meant that this was an excuse to run rampant in the streets.
- Multiplaying is permitted, but to a maximum of two characters
online at a time.
- Spamming is strictly not permitted, spamming will probably
result in instant Noshout and possible deletion/ban.
- Spamming an Immortal is strictly forbidden.. Anyone asking
a god a question more than once, or asking a god to load equipment, set
your alignment or anything along those lines is grounds for the god to
delete you.
- Profanity on the public channels is not permitted.
- Sexual Harrassment is against the law, and will be dealt
with accordingly.
- Cheating, or any other form of exploiting a bug on the
mud to your advantage is grounds for deletion and or other appropriate
action. If you discover a bug, report it to us and you may be rewarded
(depending on the nature of the bug). We are adopting this policy to allow
us to advance the mud and put new things in as opposed to spending all
our time fixing exploits that certain players use that gives them an advantage
over other players.

What happens if a creature kills me?
If you are under level 21, your corpse will go to the morgue (the morgue is located west then south of fountain square) with your inventory. Your money, however, will go to the bank. To buy your corpse back, you'll need to withdraw money (use the command, "withdraw ) from the bank (located, 2 souths, up, and west from fountain square) then go to the morgue and type buy . If you over level 21, your corpse, along with all of your gold and inventory will stay in the room you were killed.
How do you talk to everyone?
Rumor is how people communicate to the rest of the MUD. Rumor costs you 20 mana everytime you rumor something. You could also shout, which is exactly the same thing. Hollering, is different, it allows you to communicate to people with the zone radius and costs 10 mana.
How do you place a bid an auction?
Type auc bid when an item is being auctioned.
Where are some good monsters to kill?
Type zone and find the list of zones there are in Thieves World. Find the zone that seems appropriate for your level, and type zone to find info on that zone. I could help you with directions, but try to figure it out from the info.
