Tel'aran'rhiod

Welcome to Tel'aran'rhiod - or, more specifically, a small portion of it.
Hello, I'm Corianin Nedeal and I'll be your guide here in this portion of Mahiro's homepage. I'm the current head of the Tower Library's R&D section. Yes, I know what you're thinking - I'm dead. Well, I've been bound to the Wheel, ok? And what better place for me to run research than Tel'aran'rhiod. Two sections makes up Tel'aran'rhiod at the moment - the Dreams of Corianin Nedeal section and the Minor Prophecies section. The Dreams section is where I put up the events and foretellings that I have extrapolated. The Minor Prophecies are just things I believe will happen, small events that don't merit an explanation or proof. However, don't forget I was a weak Dreamer at best - and, being dead over 400 years, my memory is a bit fuzzy so don't take any of my predictions as set in stone.

Dreams of Corianin Nedeal

Who is Moridin?
Moridin. A strange young man, with powers beyond those of any Forsaken - but paying a heavy price for it. Who could this be? Many have speculated that he is Ishamael, but I hold a slightly different viewpoint.
I believe that yes, Moridin is a brought-back Forsaken, but that this Forsaken is none other than LANFEAR. After falling through the redstone doorway - and incidentally being burned out - she ends up in the land of the Foxes. It must be the Foxes because Moiraine took the redstone doorway from Rhuidean, in which Mat met the Foxes. There, she makes three wishes: 1)to wield the greatest power possible, 2)to return to Randland, and 3)to return in a guise such that none would recognize her unless she so wished it. Her price? The second cour'souvra, holding her own soul - but a modified cour'souvra, allowing the Foxes control over her. This cour'souvra, incidentally, causes no pain to her since she must wear it - if a Fox wore it, it'd be in another dimension and probably would not work. Also, Mat spent less than a week inside the ter'angreal, and with this time frame as a reference, Lanfear must have done something to exit the doorway, or she probably would not have been let out again by the Foxes. I don't know of any other way that Lanfear could have escaped, short of becoming someone else we don't know about yet. But this information ties into my next theory.

Asmodean's death
Again, there have been many theories concerning who did in this treacherous buffoon. I hold that the one who eliminated this fool (and incidentally the one who wins my undying gratitude) can only be... Moridin. Yes, "the words still hung in the air when death took him (emphasis mine.)" Now, doesn't Moridin mean Death in the Old Tongue? Lanfear, wanting revenge on Asmodean, comes back (see above) and as her first act kills Asmodean. She reveals herself to Asmodean, so that he would know fear before dies, then kills him almost instantly. None of the others with the power to kill Asmodean - the Forsaken, Padan Fain, a Gholam, or Shaidar Haran - both have the motive to kill him and can be recognized by him on sight. It's not Semirhage's style to kill outright, Sammael and Graendal never even bother with Asmodean, and so the Gholam - which I presume is under Sammael's control - would not attack Asmodean. Demandred says that he knew less than the Dark One about Asmodean. Fain wouldn't be recognized, and neither would Shaidar Haran. I don't believe that Mesaana would have killed him, since he had absolutely no bearing on her plans in the White Tower. Lanfear is the only one with enough hatred of Rand, excepting Demandred, to want to kill Asmodean so as to bring him down.

Olver and Gaidal Cain
I believe that young Olver, Mat's unofficially adopted kid, is actually Gaidal Cain reborn. In Fires of Heaven, Birgitte says "I have not seen him (Gaidal Cain) for some time. I think the Wheel has spun him out again. It always happens so." Also, she states that "Time here is not like time in the waking world." Therefore, Olver, who first appears in Lord of Chaos, most certainly has had enough time to grow into a little boy of nine years. Both Olver and Gaidal Cain are good with horses - Gaidal guides his with his knees in the battle with the Seanchan, and Olver says "horses like me." Olver is also "perhaps the ugliest child Mat had ever seen," while Gaidal Cain is "perhaps as ugly a man as Nynaeve had ever seen." Olver's mouth and nose are also described as too large for his face, and Gaidal's nose is heavy and too big, and his mouth a gash. Those two descriptions sound very similar. The only thing Olver needs now is to learn how to use a pair of swords. Perhaps Mahiro will teach him...

Berelain's "Man in White"
In the Stone of Tear, Min sees a viewing that Berelain will fall head over heels for a man dressed in white. Many people think that this is a gai'shain or other white-robed person, but I believe that her future honey is going to be Galad. He is a Whitecloak, after all, and I hardly believe he's going to let himself be caught without his uniform in a normal situation. He'll also stand out more, not that he really needs to. Also, Berelain is arguably the most desirable woman described in all of the books so far, with the possible exception of Lanfear. Galad is undoubtedly the most handsome man introduced to date. They seem like a perfect couple. Add this to the fact that Berelain has just traveled to Ghealdan - where Galad is stationed - and I do believe we've got a wedding in the works.

Minor Prophecies

Mat and Olver will win a game of Snakes and Foxes.

The Seanchan will destroy both the Little Tower and the Band of the Red Hand, but Mat will rescue several of the Salidar Aes Sedai.

Thom will rescue Moiraine (duh)

Logain will pull Callandor.

Logain will defeat Mazrim Taim and become the new M'Hael.

That's it for now. After I Dream some more, I'll put some more stuff on. Come back soon...
