Cake is from the fetile valley of Sacramento. The band just released their third album entitled "Prolonging the Magic". Their new song from prolonging, "Neverthere" has become a monsterous hit with the alternative world. Their two previous albums, 1994's "Modorcade of Generosity" and 1996's "Fashion Nugget", include hits like "Jolene"," Rock'n'Roll Lifestyle", "Frank Sinatra", their awesome remake of "I Will Survive", and the one that put them over the top, "The Distance."

Although cake gets some of their music played on the alternative rock station, cake has a much broader range of music. Cake brings not only rock, but country, disco, jazz, and funk to the table. Songs like "Mexico" and "She'll Come Back to Me" use a pedal-steel guitar to add some country flavor. And of course their remake of the 70s chart topper, "I Will Survive" still has some disco left in it.
