A Form of Good and Bad
Chapter 1
The sun was dipping low into the horizon.
Link stared deeply into it, tranced. "Link, come on, the
drawbridge will be going up soon." "We have to hurry and
get inside!" Zelda cried out. Link spun around and grinned.
He ran past Zelda giving her a hint it was a race. She
stared at him for a moment and started to run, too. But of
course experienced Link won. "You cheated, no fair." Zelda
pouted. "Yes, but maybe you'll be more ready next time,"
Link replied breathing hard. Zelda looked hard at Link for
a moment, studying him. He definitely had the looks of a
hero, all right. He was very muscular for a 17-year old, he
had golden blonde hair, charming blue eyes, and a
comforting smile. She wasn't surprised she was in love with
him. It was very obvious they both liked each other a lot.
A shrill squeak startled her daze. The drawbridge was going
up! Link sighed impatiently as he took Zelda's hand and
they both fled as fast as they could toward the rising
bridge. Link jumped onto the edge and held his hand out for
the princess. Zelda didn't take another moment's
hesitation. She jumped forward and grasped the edge and
they both scrambled over it, running into the castle's
entrance.
***
As Link and Zelda walked silently inside,
Impa was nearing them. "Impa!" cried Zelda surprised.
"Wha...what are you doing here?" Impa smiled gently at
Zelda and bowed. "Your Majesty, I know it has been a long
time since we have seen each other, but I have word for
you.....and Link." Zelda looked over at him and saw he had
his serious, grave look on his face. As though he were
ready for a mission or battle. "It has come where Hyrule is
no longer safe.....again." "Stronger and more evil forces
have rested on the land of Hyrule." "It seems the Hero of
Time has yet another mission." Impa said quietly.
"No.....but it can't be," Zelda said, tears filling her
eyes. She turned and ran towards the castle, leaving them
alone. Link watched as she disappeared out of sight, Impa
too had a sad look in her eyes. She knew how the princess
felt about Link having to leave again, and their world in
danger. Impa turned towards Link and said "Well, you better
be getting to bed now, your journey begins tomorrow." "May
the Triforce protect you." And with that Impa bowed and
left Link to stand there alone. To think about what new
challenges and dangers that stood in his path. Again.

Zelda had her face buried in some pillows.
She cried and cried. She heard a soft knock at her door and
she moaned out, "Come in." Link opened the door and sat on
Zelda's bed. He looked at her for a while and started to
say something but didn't. Zelda tried to dry the tears on
her face but they wouldn't leave. She cried even harder
just seeing him looking at her sorrowfully. He held her in
his arms and looked into her eyes and smiled. As though
nothing had been said about the new Evil. Zelda stopped
crying finally and Link kissed her on the forehead. He got
up and left her room. Zelda stared blankly at the floor for
a while and started to cry again.
Chapter 2
The morning sun was rising up over the hills.
Sunlight spilled into Link's room. Link was already awake.
He stared at the sunrise for quite awhile before leaving
his room. He walked down the stairs making sure it wouldn't
creak as he made his way down. He stopped next to Zelda's
room and opened the door. He expected to see the princess
soundly sleeping, but nobody was in the bed. Link closed
the door and went the rest of the way downstairs. He knew
he would meet Zelda somewhere in the castle.
***
Zelda had her head down and was humming to the song
of Zelda's Lullaby. She had her eyes closed and was in deep
thought. It was quiet all around her. The village was still
asleep. She was enjoying the peace for that moment, to keep
to herself. A sound from behind her startled her. She
turned around and saw Link heading for her. Zelda tried to
smile but it wouldn't come to her face. Link sat next to
Zelda and was as quiet as she was. He was dressed in his
forest tunic. He had the Master Sword, his Hylian Shield,
and his Ocarina of Time. He was definitely ready for his
journey as it looked. They were both quiet for a few
moments until Zelda couldn't stand it anymore. "Oh Link,
why is this happening?" "Why do you have to go away?" "Why
not let someone else do it?" Please Link, please don't go!"
"I'll miss you, I'll miss you!" Zelda burst out letting all
her emotions take over. Link looked over toward Zelda
surprised. But then replied, "To tell you the truth, I
don't know why a new Evil has taken control once again, and
I have to go because it's my job, as the Hero of Time."
"I'm sorry, dear Princess." "I will miss you, too." Zelda
turned her head down again. Link took out his Ocarina,
hoping his tunes would lighten the princess. He closed his
eyes and let his hands press the right notes to Saria's
Song. Zelda lifted her head, closed her eyes, and let the
music go into her soul. Link played with much talent, so
the music was wonderful. Then Link played Epona's Song. It
had the ranch kind of music and Zelda thought it was a
treat, indeed! Zelda smiled and before she knew it she was
laughing with happiness. She hugged Link and smiled deeply.
"Come on Link, let's take a walk in Hyrule, before you go,"
Zelda said with a light voice. She took Link's hand and
they both ran out of the castle. Like when they were still
children.
***
Link ran past Zelda and won the race again. He
stopped at a tree as Zelda stopped at it, too. "What shall
we do first?" Link said grinning sheepishly at Zelda.
"Hmmmm, you decide, I'm not good at picking exciting
things," Zelda replied laughing. Link shrugged and took out
his Ocarina. He played Epona's Song. What's that song going
to do?" Zelda asked wondering. "Oh, you'll see," Link said
mostly to himself. A shrill neigh could be heard and Zelda
gasped as the most beautiful horse she had ever seen was
galloping toward them. "It's Epona!" Zelda whispered.
"Yeah, come on!!" Link answered in an excited voice. He
climbed upon the horse's back and reached out his hand for
Zelda. Zelda took the invitation and climbed on, too. Link
clucked to his horse and they bolted off. Zelda held on
tightly onto Link's waist. She had her eyes squeezed
tightly shut as they went faster and faster. After a while,
Epona slowed a bit down, but you could feel the power of
surging muscles underneath you when you rode Epona. Zelda
opened her eyes finally and looked at the flashing world
passing by. "Hold on," Link said to Zelda. "We're in for a
bumpy ride." Zelda held on tighter, as Epona leaped two
high gates. It was a spectacular ride! A few moments later
Epona came to a stop and Link climbed off. He helped Zelda
down, too. Once Zelda was off she looked around her to see
where they were. "Lake Hylia!" Zelda gasped. "I haven't
been here since I was little!" Link smiled, happy that the
princess was pleased. Come on, let's take a refreshing
swim," Link blurted out and was heading toward the water.
Zelda watched him dive in. He swam to the surface and dived
again. "Fine, I just have to get my bathing suit on. She
went to a building near the lake and went in. "Aha!" "There
it is," Zelda said to herself as she reached toward the
bathing suit on a table. She quickly dressed and walked out
the door. As Princess Zelda neared the water, Link was
nowhere to be seen. Annoyed, Zelda swan dived in. In case
Link was watching from a distance. She always wanted to
impress him. She came to the surface and took a breath. She
looked around but still no Link. She decided to swim out to
the island in the middle of the Lake and wait for him. She
climbed onto the island and screamed out at what she saw
there laying.
Chapter 3
Zelda screamed louder and fell backwards into the
water. Someone grabbed hold of her arm and Zelda wrenched
around to find Link looking worriedly into her eyes.
"What's wrong, has anyone tried to hurt you?" "Cause if
they have, I'm going to get rid of them and I don't mean in
a friendly way, either," Link said with anger in his voice.
Zelda was still panting, and then a grin spread across her
face. "Why are you......smiling?" Link said with suspension
in his voice. "It's a secret, come closer," Zelda replied
still beaming. Link got closer, and Zelda whispered into
his ear, "I.....got.....you!" She started laughing
hysterically. Link started to laugh, too. Knowing his trick
of trying to hide had been conquered by Zelda's fake-out
trick! Zelda finally stopped laughing, beginning to feel
Link's arms hugging her waists. She put her arms around his
neck and gently kissed him on the lips. They laughed a
little more. And went to shore to get dressed into their
clothes and go to Kokiri Forest.
***
Soon, after they had dressed they were on Epona
riding calmly around Hyrule Field. Epona turned a corner
and slowed to a stop. Link and Zelda hopped off and walked
into the Lost Woods Entrance. Link came to a dead stop.
Zelda turned around puzzled. "What's wrong Link?" Link bit
his lip and his face lightened once more. "Nothing," he
replied. They both started to walk once more unto the Lost
Woods. They met a Skull Kid along the way. Link frowned and
pulled his sword from his sheath ready to defend Zelda from
the Skull Kid's fire ball shooting flute. The Skull Kid
stopped dancing to his tunes and started shooting. Navi
targeted the "pest" and let Link to the rest. Link charged
forward and slashed the Skull Kid once. The Skull Kid spun
around desperately trying to avoid the cutting blade of the
Master Sword. Link finally killed the Skull Kid in several
slashes and a Giant Rupee appeared in it's place. Link
grabbed it and turned toward Zelda. "Shall we continue?"
Link said with a spark in his voice. Zelda smiled and
together they went arm in arm into Kokiri Forest.
***
"Oh Link!" "It's wonderful!" Zelda cried out
amazed. "I thought you'd like it," Link answered. "How
about I treat you to lunch?" Link asked. Zelda grinned and
answered, "Oh Link, I don't know what I'm going to do when
you leave." They both went to a cafe' near the Great Deku
Tree. "So much has changed since I have been gone, like
this new cafe' near the Deku Tree." "I sure miss this
place," Link said looking around. They both sat down and
ordered a drink and some Leaf Cookies. They both ate
staring lovingly at each other. Knowing this would be the
last day they would see each other for a while. A familiar
voice broke Link's trance. He jerked his head up and there
at the door's entrance was Saria! Link stood up and waved
Saria over. "Link? Link!" Saria cried out. "Oh, it's so
good to see you." "It's good to see you, too." Link
replied. When Saria came closer, she saw Zelda. Saria's
face now became red with anger. "Oh hi, Saria!" Zelda said
gently. "Hi," Saria answered quite dumbly. Zelda had a
confused look on her face until Link had put his arm around
her. Zelda smiled again, happy that Link still belonged to
her and only her. Saria plopped down to a seat opposite of
Link and Zelda and forced a smile on her face. Saria
ordered something and they all ate in silence. After Saria
finished eating she got up and said good-bye to Link and
left. "Strange, Saria has never acted so angry before."
Link said trying to sound as if he didn't know Saria loved
him and was jealous of Zelda. But Link did know and felt a
little guilty about it. "Well, we better get going," Zelda
said quietly. Link put his arm around Zelda's shoulder and
they both left in silence.
