Chapter 9: Final Count Down part 2
Alternator's Doomsday Device has started up. Echidnapolis
is no more at this time. It begins to grow slower. The
sky is blood red. All over this side of Mobius. Now it's
Leo who is the defender of the planet. But he doesn't have
much time. Can he make it?
"This can't be........ I probably already failed.." Leo
sits on the ground, watching the Doomsday device in action.
"The machine has already destroyed Echidnapolis... And
parts around it... Alternator doesn't know what he's
doin......." He gets up. Ami watches Leo leave, then
decides to follow. As Leo reaches Angel Island Zone, he
looks around, running through. If I don't make it...
EVerything is lost.. Everything... The voices return in his
head about the Doomsday Device and what it could do to the
planet. Leo keeps running as fast as he can. Som eof his
friends see him pass by and follow. Leo creates an ice
ball and forms a bridge over the river. He runs over the
bridge and keeps running. "Gotta get that son of a bitch
Alternator..... And I better hurry..." He transforms to
vapor and flies through the air. he zips across the sky,
reaching the castle. He transforms back to flesh right
beside the door. As he opens it, his friends make it.
Zip, again, is the first. "Hey Leo, what's up?" "Well,
Alternator is about to go up back where he came from..."
Leo rns in. The castle has somehow changed.Then, a voice
is heard. It is Alternator's. He is on the intercom.
"Hello, Leo and friends. Welcome to my little labyrinth, a
deadly maze. If you make it through, you get your puny
planet back. If you don't, well... You get the idea. You
die. So, get to your starting point and begin.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!" Leo walks up to the starting point
and tells everyone, "Guys, we're gonna need to be together
on this one... This way we can use our powers and skills
to make it through. And if we split up, It's most likely
one ofus can get hurt, even killed. Wee need to be ateam
and pass this maze... Come on!" He runs into the maze.
RaptorMen 'greet' them by jumping out of nowhere and are
ready to attack.Leo does a Deep Chill on the Raptors and
makes them go into a deep freeze. Everyone shatters them
for the fun of it. As they run through, they find three
ways to go. "Hmm..." Zip makes a suggestion, "How about we
go to the right? I can't see any death traps down there."
You may be right... But they may be in the walls hidden....
Let's try it..." They go to the right hallway. A door
shuts the path behind them. "Well, we can't make another
decision about where to go..." They walk slowly. Leo holds
an ice ball in his hand. Zip handles the fire to get light
in the dark hallway. The ice ball has a small
illumination. Then, arrows shoot out from side to side at
top speed. Leo's eyes widen, then he jumps through
quickly, dodging arrows. Hydro slices through the arrows
as fast as possible. And the rest walk through the
opening. There is now a left turn. As they run through,
there are two giant cutting blades in their way. "Well,
time to stop this machine..." He freezes it with hisice
ball and shatters it. And yet more traps lay ahead.
Alternator waits at the end of the maze. He holds a small
control panel which controls all the traps. "Well, so far
he's defeated the first traps... Simple traps... But not
what lays ahead." He looks on a monitor which shows the
entire maze and a blue blip. The blip stands for Leo. All
sorts of different color blips are behind him, showing the
little army. Then Alternator presses a red button on the
panel. And then a green one. And then a yellow one.
Fire, Blades, and a very bright light.
Leo walks through, garding his eyes of the light, watching
out for the fire that pops up from the ground. He's
sweating, getting wea from the fire, one of his weaknesses.
He cools himself off with his ice. They dodge the flying
blades. One strikes Leo across the chest. "GAH!!!!" He
falls to the ground, grasping his chest. Ami walks over to
Leo, "You okay?" "Yeah... Lemme just.. rest for a sec.."
After the blades and flame are gone, he walks through the
maze once again. And after a right turn, a huge blade, 10
times larger than the group itself, slams into the ground,
cutting int the ground, rolling at them. "WHOA!!! GUYS,
RUN!!!!!!!" Leo yells as he dashes as fast as he can.
there are more blades falling onto the ground. They cut
through everything it touches. When they turn, so do the
blades. Ami trips when someone accidentaly runs into her.
She looks back, sees the blades only a few feet away.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAahHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Leo hears
the scream, sees Ami, and rushes over to her. He grabs Ami
just in the nick of time. Carrying Ami in his arms, he
runs away from the blades. He's not faster than the
blades, but they come closer to Leo and Ami. "This is
gonna be a close cut...." He runs faster trying to get out
of the way of the blades. Leo then goes into a glide and
speeds ahead of the blades. ANd then, the blades
disappear. "Aw damn... Just a holographic image! Yet it
seemed so real.." Leo exclaims. Leo sets Ami down and he
keeps walking. And then he reaches the end of the maze.
Alternator waits, in his cape. "Well, you found the easy.
way out, eh?" Leo thinks, If you call escaping blades and
flames easy... "Now that we've finished this maze, it's
you and me, Alternator. You and me, in a final battle.
This time, it's the real thing." Alternator grins,
electricity flying everywhere. The group watches from the
sidelines. It is now the true Final Count Down.
Meanwhile, outside, the device has already destroyed half
of Mobius. Then Echidnapolis is seen, atleast what's left
of it. It is a desert, a desert of hard, cracked ground.
Solid rock.. Nothing else can be seen. Just death. Death
of Nature. There isn't much time, and the destruction
picks up speed. People are killed or dieing. Nothing is
what it used to be...
