STORY

lara Croft, daughter of
Lord Henshingly Croft, was raised to be an aristocrat from birth.
After attending finishing school at the age of 21, Lara's marriage
into wealth had seemed assured but on her way home from a skiing trip
her chartered plane had crashed deep in the heart of the Himalayas.
The only survivor, Lara learned how to depend on her wits to stay
alive in hostile conditions a world away from her sheltered
upbringing. 2 weeks later when she walked into the village of
Tokakeriby her experiences had had a profound effect on her. Unable
to stand the claustrophobic suffocating atmosphere of upper-class
British society, she realized that she was only truly alive when she
was travelling alone. Over the 8 following years she acquired an
intimate knowledge of ancient civilizations across the globe. Her
family soon disowned their prodigal daughter, and she turned to
writing to fund her trips. Famed for discovering several ancient
sites of profound archaeological interest she made a name for herself
by publishing travel books and detailed journals of her
exploits.
A nuclear explosion in
Los Alamos, New Mexico hurled a piece of artifact to the sky where it
landed in an undisclosed desert valley. From a hotel in Calcutta,
Larson delivers a message to Lara Croft using a laptop computer link,
live from Natla's office. Lara is given the job of finding an
artifact called the Scion. The artifact supposedly contains " unknown
powers" from Atlantis. Her first task is to go to Peru and into the
City of Qualopec, an ancient Incan city, and find the first piece of
the Scion.
Along with a guide, Lara
finds the entrance to the lost city. Upon opening the huge doors,
several wolves attack the guide. After Lara killed all the wolves and
found the guide dead, she enters the opening when the doors suddenly
closes behind her.
Larson tells Lara that
Natla has sent Pierre to find the other 2 pieces of the Scion,
disclosing the location, St. Francis' Folly. Afterwards, Larson tries
to put the hurt on Lara but she gets the better of him. Lara goes to
Natla's headquarters, breaks in and looks for the information on
where to get the next piece of the Scion.
Lara is reading an
Egyptian hieroglyphics both from the wall and the cover of a tomb.
After holding the 2 pieces of the Scion together, she is suddenly
pulled into a dream about Atlantis; a scene of ancient rituals. The
dream shows her where the last piece is located... in the ruins of
ancient Egypt. Riding a motorcycle, she heads speedily to find the
last piece.
Coming out of the cave
and blinded by the sun, Natla's hired companions sneak up on Lara.
One of them, the Cowboy, takes Lara's pistols and the 3 pieces of the
Scion. The Cowboy shows the Scion to Natla and she orders them to
kill Lara. However, Lara eludes them by jumping off the cliff into
the river. Once Natla and her companions drive away, Lara rides her
motorcycle and chases them. She then arrives by a pier, finding out
that Natla's party have boarded a yacht and are about to leave. Using
her bike, she speeds up towards shore and jumps into the water,
swimming towards the yacht, avoiding Natla's bodyguards and sneaking
aboard the boat. Once in the boat, she goes inside a stow away and
sleeps. When she wakes up, the yacht has stopped next to an
island.
The scene begins with
Natla placing the Scion in an ancient table, suspended by a magnetic
field, when it suddenly turns and activates a count down timer. The
mountain collapses revealing the pyramid of Atlantis.
As Lara approaches the
same table where Natla placed the scion earlier, she falls into
another dream; rituals of the old Atlantis with Natla being accused
of stealing the Scion for personal powers. When she steps back, Natla
confronts her regarding the power of the Scion. As the countdown
elapses, Lara pulls the pistols when Natla pushes here towards the
edge. Lara manages to grab the ledge on the opposite side while Natla
falls to her death. Suddenly, the piece on top of the wall moves.
When Lara escapes from
the Pyramid, Atlantis explodes. As our heroine swims towards the
yacht and drives away, our story ends.

BACKGROUND

EDUCATION:
Private tutoring (3-11) Wimbledon high school for girls (11-16)
Gordonstoun boarding school (16-18) Swiss finishing school
(18-21).
Sports:
not much of a team player. Discovered rock climbing while at
Gordonsroun and used to set off into the hills alone during netball
practice. Also took up shooting as an extra-curriclar activity but
was instantly banned for showing "too keen an interest." However, the
strenght that climbing gave her fingers were to become useful when
she started pulling triggers for real.
Family:
The daughter of Lord Henshingly Croft, Lara was brought up in the
secure world of aristocracy, surrounded by tennis, butlers and
corgis. but this all started to change when she went to the renowned
school of Gordonstoun and found the mountains of
scotland.
Later, at her
swiss finishing school, she took to the art of extreme skiing and
spent a holiday in the himalayas searching for more challenging
terrain. On her return trip, however, the plane crashed deep within
the mountains and lara was the only survivor. two weeks later, when
she walked into a mountain village, her experiences had had a
profound effect on her. unable to stand the suffocating atmosphere of
upper-class British society any longer, she realised she was
travelling alone.
Despite this
drastic life change, lara still retains the essence of her
up-bringing - most notably with her polite, upper-class accent.
lara's parents though, having sported hopes of her marrying the Earl
of farringdon, were less than convinced about this chosen lifestyle
and ceased to associate with their daughter - even terminating her
monthly allowance. the Earl is still waiting.
While in
england, lara lives in a mansion in Surrey which she inherited many
years ago. at one time she saw little use in it bit now realises that
if nothing else, it is at least handy for storing all the artifacts
she has acquired on her travels. she has had a custom-built assault
course constructed in the grounds for training
purposes.
Employment:
lara doesn't consider tomb raiding as a job, merely a way of life -
althought she has been known to uncover archaelogical artifacts on
commission. to fund her radical lifestyle, lara writes travel books.
titles so far have included, "A Tyrannosaurus is jawing at my head"
and "Slaying bigfoot." her common complaint though is that she
doesn't have enough time to put pen to paper.
Achievements:
As well
as uncovering many notorious archaelogical sites - including the
Atlantean pyramid and the last resting plave of the dagger of xian,
lara has found fame in other areas she has driven the dangerous
alaskan highway from tierra del fuego in south america in record time
(although this was later denounced by the guinnessbook of records due
to her "reckless driving") and she hit the headlines again when she
hunted out and killed bigfoot in north america...

Legend has it
that when you drive the dagger of Xian into your heart, you acquire
the power of the dragon, literally. Three parties covet this dagger.
And all for entirely different reasons. Lara Croft, forever the
adventurer, is one of these. On her travels she will encounter the
other two. Lara's explorations start at The Great Wall of China, the
legendary resting place of the Xian dagger, and will subsequently
take her to locations such as Venice, Tibet and an underwater
shipwreck in an all new adventure.
As the game
begins, the story is being explained. At first Ch'in Shih Huang Ti,
the first Emperor of Ancient China, appears in the Great Wall, in a
battle against some rebel monks holding the Wall.
Shihuang was so
evil, he send his army to defeat the Tibetan monks. The monks tried
to stop them, but just made them angrier. They were
lost......
As the evil
forces where based on the big dragon, they tried to destroy it, but
that was impossible. The Dragon was invincible 'cause he had the
power of the Dagger.
When evil's
army was defeating them, a wounded monk saw the dragon coming and
attaking some warriors bothering him, at once the wounded monk pull a
bright thing of the dragon's heart....... he took, the Dagger of the
Xian. The dragon started to dissolve in the ground. The Emperor's
army hadn't the heart to continue fighting............
Soon an ancient
and a young monk take the Dagger to it's resting place within the
Great Wall, and locked hopefully forever.
Lara is dropped
from the helicopter in the Great Wall, China. Since here, Lara begins
a never-ending quest, in search of "The Dagger of the Xian".
Obviously she starts on the Great Wall, she reaches the temple where
the Dagger rests, unfortunately she couldn't get in, and a
conversation with a monk follows This time is not a trip, this time
is life or dead.......... choose!
