Episode 2: Time and Again

Episode 2: Time and Again (Airs 6/24/00)

This episode is the 12th Episode that aired in Japan. This episode starts out with Sakura's dad, Aiden Avalon, is at Parent's day for the school. Aiden is explaining his line of work at the college, he teaches about archaeology and the special finds. Right after, Li and Zachary seem very interested in this subject so talks to Aiden about it. Li is very enthusiastic about this. Aiden invites Li to the university to learn more. Zachary explains that Sakura is Aiden's daughter. They end up at home where Kero is playing a video game called, Zylon Warriors. Sakura brings food to his brother's room where Julian is too. Well umm.. Sakura brought in pastry puffs and was very speechless. Sakura goes to bed while Kero turns off the lights. The two go to bed and then when the clock strikes 12:00 midnight, the clock tower at Sakura's school rings. Sakura and Kero wake up. Sakura hurries to school because she is late. Kero turns on his Zylon Warriors to find out that he didn't save and there is NO DATA. Sakura is nervous about her recorder test. Madison gives Sakura some advice, 'Remember to breathe.' Sakura messed up at the end of her recorder test though. Li is seen practicing every second he can. Li is walking and playing the recorder when a soccer ball comes flying at Li. Li does this super jump kick and kicks it into the goal. Everybody gave him a round of applause. Sakura goes home and talks with his dad and brother who tell her to practice more. Sakura practices while Kero plays..yet again and saves. Sakura practiced and got it until it was perfect. It becomes midnight again and the hands of time of the clock tower turn back 24 hours. Sakura is late yet again and Kero turns on Zylon Warriors to find out it didn't save again. Madison is walking with Sakura to school and asks her if she's ready to take the music test today. Sakura wonders why she would ask that since they had it yesterday. Madison tells her to breathe again and this time Sakura perfects the music test. This time Li isn't practicing his recorder. Sakura thinks she's just having a wild case of Deja Vu. Li comes walking in but now he isn't playing the recorder. Li asks Sakura if they had a music test yesterday too. They find out that a clow card is in the clock tower. A ball comes after Li again and he does the same thing. And everyone applauds again. That night, Sakura and Kero are dressed in the battle costume that Madison designed. They fly to the clock tower but are stopped by this old man holding an hourglass who slows them down. The old man interferes with the flow of time and then speeds up time to turn back time another 24 hours. Kero explains that people without magical powers don't feel the time interferences. It then warps to the 3rd day but at the clock tower. Li now shows up and has a bandage on his nose. The bandage was caused because he didn't block the soccer ball this time. Li wants to blow up the clock tower but Sakura says they shouldn't. Sakura goes inside the clock tower from inside the school instead of flying into it. Li comes in from using a rope and anchor. Sakura tries to capture the card but is frozen. Li breaks the window and comes in breaks the magic. Li advises Sakura to use the Shield card to protect them from the Time card. Li uses the Thunder card to zap him and stop him from escaping. Sakura then captures the card and it goes to Li. Kero explains that the card goes to Li because he earned it. The one who seals the card doesn't always get the card. So it is confirmed that Li does get the Thunder card from Episode 1. Sakura meets Madison at school and Sakura brought her recorder just in case. Madison reminds Sakura they have a spelling test but Sakura forgot. One thing I thought weird about this episode was that there is a lot of japanese writing in it. There is japanese on the board where Aiden Avalon was giving his speech and in the video game, Zylon Warriors that Kero was playing. If there's japanese characters in it, why did they edit it from the first episode and make it look like the teacher was writing with invisible chalk? Well that's my thought ^.^;;

This week's card: The Shield!

Changes this episode:

They cut a small scene where Li is standing on his seat clapping and the two girls sitting next to him are looking up at him thinking how weird he is. The whole audience is clapping too. Sakura is thinking how she wishes that class always felt that short. This is after the bells ring after Aiden's speech and before Li and Zachary go up to talk to Aiden.

Aiden invites Li to the University in the English version while in the Japanese version, he invites Li to his house.

They cut out the scene were Aiden is leaving school and is talking to Sakura during break. Aiden is saying tells Sakura that he is going to make dinner that night because Tori has to study for a test the next day.

When Sakura is bringing food for Tori and Julian because they are studying, a very, VERY short scene was cut out. Sakura practices on what to say before she knocks on the door to give them food. She says, 'Good luck on your test. Please take this!'

Sakura gave meat buns to Tori and Julian in the japanese version while they changed to Pastry Puffs in the English.

The song used to play during the music/recorder test is changed. It used to be a song that Madison sings in the japanese version called, 'Yoru no Uta.'

When Sakura goes to take her recorder test, Madison says something in the english version, 'Remember to breathe.' In the japanese version, she doesnt say anything or more like she is whispering. You later find out Madison told her to relax.

When Li is secretly practicing the recorder in the classroom, he is actually playing it. In the japanese version, he is only doing the fingers and not making much noise except some blowing sounds.

At the very end when Sakura goes down to check her backpack and gets up super deformed, the cut out a VERY VERY SMALL scene (less than a second) where Sakura is crying a lot of tears down her cheeks. I have no idea why they cut it though...

That's all! Stay Tuned for Episode 3: The Cave (Airs 7/08/00)!
