Episode 3: The Cave
Episode 3: The Cave (Aired 7/08/00)
This episode was the 17th episode in Japan. Starts with Kero being left alone at home when it's a super hot day. Tori and Julian are studying. We learn now that Sakura and her school got to go to a trip to the beach. Sakura is swimming and feels something weird from the cave and sees Li there. Sakura's friends then call her to come play some beach volleyball. They introduce Zachary and his wacky stories in this episode. Sakura thinks they are real but then Chelsea says they are all made up. Chelsea and Zachary are cousins. They see that Li is a great swimmer too. Now is time for the students to pull a big net full of fish. Then they go to barbeque where they are cooking the fish. Sakura is peeling potatoes with only okne peel while Li is super 'Martin Yan' style of chopping vegetables. Everyone is impressed and thinks Sakura has a big challenge. It's now time to sleep and Nikki is now telling a story about the cave that Sakura had seen earlier and that they are going into the next day. This is a ghost story that Zachary told Nikki. Sakura is very scared of ghosts. The teacher comes in and tells everyone it's time to sleep. Sakura can't sleep so she takes a walk and sees Li who totally scares her by just touching. They have a talk about the cave and about ghosts. Li says that it isn't a Clow Card and that it has another weird presence. Li sees something weird at the cave and they go back to sleep. Sakura and Madison take a rest in the trees and Sakura sees something weird at the cave too. It's now time for the night walk into cave. They are told to walk in pairs of two to get a sense of it all. When it's Sakura's and Madison's turn, they notice something weird that ther aren't any candles or lights ahead or behind them. They notice this at the bridge when that's right before the ending point. Rita and Chelsea tell Sakura and Madison that Nikki disappeared. Then Rita disappears, then Chelsea. Then Madison disappears as they are running back out of the cave. Li comes and tells Sakura that the same thing happened with his group. Sakura is freaked out cause she thinks it's a ghost. Li assures her there's not such thing as ghosts. Sakura feel's that there's a Clow Card presense and they use Li's device to find out where it is. Sakura uses the float card to take them to the other side. Li starts to disappear and he tells her to get a hold of herself and hurry and capture the card before they all disappear. Sakura feels the presence and finds out it's in the shrine thingy. She captures the card. It happens to be the Erase card. Sakura wants to give the card to Li because she wouldn't have been able to capture it without him. Li just says, 'I can capture my own cards.' Nobody remembers what happened and just felt like they never even went in. Madison knows it was a Clow Card though. Everyone decides to play beach ball again and Sakura and Li do their competitive thing again.

When Zachary is hitting the beach ball on his head after Sakura finds out he was lying, he starts doing more tricks instead, like twirling balls on his fingers and feet. After that, they cut out where Chelsea smacks the beach balls at his head where he is now buried in sand.
Chelsea and Zachary are not cousins in the japanese version. They are boyfriend and girlfriend or at least, there is an 'implied relationship.' What is it with lovers changed to cousins. Amarah and Michelle (Haruka and Michiru) from Sailor Moon S to hide their also 'implied relationship.'
When Madison and Sakura go into the cave, a tall man in a ghost costume comes out. Sakura freaks out while Madison is just like, Namada-sensei! Then the teacher tells them to be careful. This is cut out.
When Sakura and Li are hearing Zachary's story about Egyptians and using beach ball to whoever wins gets the throne is changed to whoever wins gets their choice of love or something like that. Sakura and Li then both see a flowery scene where Julian is in it which is cut out. Therefore, Sakura and Li were fighting over Julian's love.
