Episode 4: Double Edged Sword (Aired 7/15/00)
This was the 9th episode to air in Japan. Originally titled, Sakura and the Mysterious Broach. Starts off where Madison tells Sakura to wait up and sees Sakura is in a bad mood. Madison asks her if it's because of what happened last night. They then shoot scenes of Episode 1: Sakura's Rival where they show her sealing the Lightning Card and where Li is telling her she is no Card Captor. Sakura wonders what would have happened if Li hadn't been there that night. Rita notices that Sakura seems down. Li comes in and Sakura wants to thank Li for helping her out the night before. Li totally blows her off saying that it's basic knowledge. Sakura then says that she had just started and hadn't been training her whole life and she didn't have a robe or anything. Li gets mad because she starts talking about his robe. Li gets just super mad and acts like a big bully. Zachary then comes to tell Li that he has to do a lot of cleaning which saves Sakura and Madison. Cuts to Sakura dreaming about her jumping off a roof with Tokyo Tower in the distance. She has ended up sleeping through class. The teacher is a big butt and acts so mean. Class is dismissed and tells everyone there's a test tomorrow and that Rita needs to study to pass. Li then scares Sakura and then he leaves. Madison suggests that they go hang out at Sakura's house to help Rita study for the test and then after go blading. On the way home they go check a store with beautiful broaches. Sakura picks a heart with wings, Madison picks a Christ cross, then Rita picks a sword. Kero is playing video games and Sakura tells him that he can't come down cause they have company (Rita). They all have tea and eat some pudding and they try testing each other. They put on the broaches and Rita is now possessed and her broach turns into a sword and attacks Sakura. Sakura takes the fight outside and can't attack her cause she doesn't want to hurt her. Li comes and saves her and then wants to fight Rita but Sakura won't let him so she jumps them out. Sakura says she'll capture it and has the Illusion card show Rita who she fears the most who is the teacher. Sakura then hits her hand to drop the sword and captures it. Kero is bragging about how Sakura caught it. Li is not impressed because it's an easy card to capture. Rita had fainted during this. Julian came by and said he was supposed to meet Tori. He says to Li that he has a very cool outfit and then Li runs away fast. Next day, Sakura asks Rita if she was okay and ends up giving Rita her own broach (heart with wings) because the sword broach is gone with the card. Then she went to give Julian chocolates for helping to carry Rita inside the house. Li runs away and Tomoyo brings her video camera to tape Sakura, yet again.

Cut out little scene in beginning where Madison sees Sakura going up the stairs before she tells her to wait up.
Cut out scene where Rita gives Sakura a flower because she knows she's feeling bummed. What's stupid is that you see Sakura holding the flower when she's talking to Li so it's like, Where'd she get that flower?
Scene where Sakura and Li are talking at school is different. In japanese version, Sakura is trying to be polite and nice. She compliments the robe he wore and asked if everybody in Hong Kong wears one. Li is not mad in the japanese version but he wonders how Sakura knows it because it is the ceremonial clothing passed down the Li family. Li knows that she has enough power to have premonitions through dreams. Why are they making Li sound like such a big bully in the English version?!
Cuts out scene that looks at the blackboard with writing on it when Zachary and Li are talking about cleaning monitors.
Cuts out scene where Rita is looking with goo-goo eyes at the teacher.
Scene where Tomoyo is looking at Sakura with Cherry Blossoms all around her is gone.
Cut out scene where Zachary comes with a mop and tells Sakura to clean.
Cut out scene where they look around at some of the stuff in the shop where they buy broaches.
Cut out scene where Sakura gets the pudding. If you notice, at first, you only see tea but then, they start eating pudding. Looks like another mess up cut.
When Sakura is using her Illusion card, she originally says something like, 'Show her the person she thinks of the most.' It is the teacher because Rita is in love with the teacher in the japanese version.
Cuts out scene where Julian looks at Li's hand because it's injured (Kero's bite marks).
Cuts out scene where teacher enters the library and sees Rita.
When Sakura goes to give Julian chocolates as a thank you gift for helping her out with Rita, Li also gives him chocolates but that is cut out too.
When Madison is whispering to Sakura about the video clips on the website, she is really telling her that it looks like Li likes Julian too.
Cuts out scene where Sakura is going, HOE?!?!?! over Li liking Julian.
Note: THIS WHOLE EPISODE HAD NO SPELLING TEST. IT JUST WANTED RITA TO FEAR THE TEACHER BECAUSE OF POSSIBLY FAILING HER. THIS WAS ALL TO SLICK OUT OF RITA LIKING THE TEACHER.
