New Adventure Site

The international collaboration formerly known as the Adventure Review Collaboration has reorganized as the Adventure Collective. The new site has retained all of the reviews from the old Adventure Review site, but now features previews and articles, plus a very nice links section. Currently there is an interesting three-part article exploring the question of what makes an ideal adventure game. I also noticed that they are looking for submissions of previews for various upcoming games including GK3. Check out the Previews section of the site for more details.

Interviews

Two more interviews with Jane Jensen have been posted: one at 3DNews.net and the other at 3D Rage.

Jane at GenCon

Jane Jensen will be at GenCon in Milwaukee from August 5th through August 8th. She will be showing off the nearly completed GK3 at the Sierra Studios booth and promoting her new novel Millenium Rising at the Dell Ray booth. Copies of the novel will be on sale there. For more info about GenCon, check out http://www.andonunlimited.com/. You'll find a review of Millenium Rising at Amazon.com.

Attic Fic Challenge

GK fans, it's time to flex your creative muscles! Madwoman is hosting a fic challenge at The Attic.

Write a SHORT STORY (less than 7,500 words, please) speculating on how the Schattenjägers came to possess the talisman. You can submit the story via an email to me, or just post it on the Blake Backlash Mysteries. Simple enough? The Attic will archive and link the best stories on the main page for a WHOLE MONTH. Yes, you can be an ATTIC MONTHLY FEATURE -- just write a story about the origins of the Schattenjägers' talisman.

Can't wait to see what fans come up with! Also, check out Blake Backlash Mysteries to read some terrific new fanfics!

CGMM Hiatus

Fans of the webzine Computer Game Music Monthly may have been wondering where the new issue is. The site is out of commission for a year, while the editor, Joonas Linkola, serves in the Finnish army. He plans to continue work on the site when he returns.

Progress Report

Adam Bormann posted the following Tuesday on the Gabriel Knight forum:

Here's a very brief update on what's going on in development this week:

1) The programmers are implimenting and debugging the options screens, save/restore games, installation, and anywhere else QA has reported bugs.
2) The environment artists are finishing up the lighting on the scenes, and fixing little things here and there.
3) The animators are putting finishing touches on the pre-rendered movies for the game.
4) The scripters are working out bugs in logic and scripts.
5) Jane and QA are playing, testing, and re-testing.
6) David is finishing up putting music and sound effects in the movies and the game.
7) I'm putting the finishing touches on the manual, and getting stuff ready to send to the ESRB ratings board, as well as my many scripting tasks.

Hope this helps keep you guys informed!
