The one thing the guys at Archie Comics hoped you wouldn't notice! The intellectual copyright infringment they THOUGHT they could get away with! Well my friends, they were wrong! Herein you'll find rip after rip of the known fan character Robyn Hedgehog.
Bernie Hedgehog
Bernie Hedgehog, first introduced in the Sonic Super Special, Brave New World. She is Sonic's mother, and when she was first seen, she was shown as a blue Robian (that's a roboticized Mobian for all you new to the series). However, in issue #76, we got to see what she really looks like!
Now, I know what you're thinking (I'm psychic you know;)). You're thinking that from the pic you see before you, that she hardly looks a thing like Robyn! Well, you're wrong! Aside from the color of her bangs, and her clothing, she looks exactly like Robyn! As you'll see in this picture, you'll find the shade of her fur is dark, as is Robyn's. Also, in another image that is in S77 (I did not scan it because it was just weird lookin) Bernie's eye color is revealed to be blue. As is Robyn's. The blue nose is merely to help avoid suspicion.
Aside from appearance, another thing Robyn and Bernie (Berneice as it was recently revealed by Ken Penders himself) just happen to be blood related to Sonic. Admittingly, on different sides of the family tree, however the ties are still there. If you are still not convinced of the obvious rip off, here are some more images of Bernie and Robyn. The more you look, the easier it is to see it.

Rob O' The Hedge
Rob O' The Hedge. Wow, were do I begin? Let's start at the most obvious; the name. Rob? Short for Robyn? Could be. Honestly. Here's a little background info. Rob was first seen in the Sonic comics in issue 58. His debut was in Knuckles 11.
Now, unlike Bernie, who was the biggest rip, Rob doesn't have much of a physical resemblance to Robyn, but the similarities are signifigant.
For those of you who read the story arc that spread over both Sonic and Knuckles continuities in which Rob was in, your first instinct was to think that it was a simple Robin Hood parody. And, in fact, it is! But more importantly is was the first attempt made by Archie at ripping off Robyn Hedgehog.
Here's a little known fact for you; Robyn is an archer. If you've read even the earliest version of her profile, you'll find this to be true. Don't you think it odd that both Rob and Robyn are both skilled archers? Also, though hard to see, Rob does have SOME resemblance to Robyn. More accurately, Rob looks very much like Sonic. And Sonic holds a striking family resemblance to his cousin.
Another thing; Rob, as was revealed in the latter part of the story arc, is the cousin of Amy Rose. A character being the cousin of another very well known (if not main) character, whereas Robyn is the COUSIN of Sonic. Gee, I wonder where they came up with that plot point?
Are all these things just coincidence? Am I just being paranoid? Do I have WAY too much free time on my hands? To answer the last question, absolutely! The answer to the first two questions is definately no! If you are still not convinced, pooh on you.
