Thank you very much for one hundred hits to my page. I do not have my own mailing address. (The address that you know is for common use.) Therefore I am sorry that I cannot respond to your offers to link my page with your own pages. This page is link-free. You can link this with your page.
Moreover I have not published the column on Seito Sakakibara yet. I am going to Kobe this week again.
You know my university is located in the hill. The address belongs to a kind of large city in Japan. However, the city consists of 420 rural villages to have a population of 2.1 million inhabitants. You know the name of the city, but when you come here, you will understand the city is rural immediately. People are ultimately conservative there. They will exclude the people from another region in Japan. On the other hand, they are generous with those who do not speak Japanese. Therefore there live many Chinese and Brazilian.
The university is located in the rural village. The campus of the university is the largest next to that of University of Tsukuba and that of Hokkaido University in Japan. Owing to the large campus, the number of the foreign students has increased annually more and more though other universities in Japan decrease foreign students. 800 students are admitted in 1997. Moreover one of the problems which confront us now is the delay in science and Japan Government constructs new facilities in national universities. The campus of the university is large enough for the Government to construct not a few buildings.
The scientific meetings have been held in my university frequently.
Most of learned societies in Japan are juridical persons for the public benefit chartered by the Science and International Affairs Bureau and the Higher Education Bureau of Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture. Though they are for the public benefit, the annual dues are $88 and the entrance fee for a scientific meeting is $88. A society will gather a lot of money and can hold the meeting in a large hotel. In fact when a meeting is held in Tokyo, they will utilize a hotel.
If a meeting is held in my university, the mess hall will be crowded and the academic staff will take lunch in a hurry at the end of the noon recess after alien scholars.
In "You're Under Arrest," a mistress of the mess hall grumbled about excess stocking, when Ms Natsumi Tsujimoto trained at a motorcycle policeman party. The mess hall must also make a profit. Mr. Shouji Toukairin (as well as Natsumi) is also a great eater. The mess hall is safe for the time being.
