When I reached the age of discretion in 1963, Fuji Telecast broadcast TV-animation type Astroboy. The program was made by Mr. Osamu Teduka, the original author of the great comic books. Then Astroboy was the symbol of hopeful future and the Astroboy world showed us future Japan in the year 2001. It is the year 1998 at present. Robot anime has begun to decline. Neon Genesis Evangelion has been often blamed by Japanese PTAs. Nagoya-TV Company, which formerly produced Gundam series, gave up Robot anime. In January 1998, "All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku (Japanese title: Bannou Bunka Nekomusume)," which is broadcast by TV-Tokyo, is regarded as trash. (I love the easy slapstick. Original Video Animation-type Nuku Nuku is available in foreign countries. The title is rather popular in USA.)
The original authors were Mr. Yuuzou Takada and Mr. Yuji Moriyama, who has his own homepage. The original comics were written for the adult. On the other hand, TV-animation type Nuku Nuku deals with Japan in the year 2013. In the world, a large enterprise, Mishima Industry Inc. appeared. It dealt with household electric appliances. It was a multinational enterprise. Of course a scientist who had an antipathy toward Mishima appeared. A young man who was the founder's son of Mishima Industry took office as the President. He represented himself as "Herr Mishima." He looks like Shocker's monster from Maskman Rider by Shoutarou Ishinomori. He called his followers as stage names and began a mockery of "Black Industry the evil secret society." Their aim was to dominate the household electric appliance market by replacing appliances with Mishima's robots. It is not bad. The point at issue was that all these robots were defective.
The story of the program was that Android robot Nuku Nuku, or Ms Atsuko Natsume (CV = Ms Megumi Hayashibara), the heroine solely defeated those defective robots. The anime is blamed because the story is different from the original.
The world in the year 2013 is rather calm and moderate. CLAMP, a famous cartoonist group, made a hopeless story in their Magic Knight Rayearth. In the story, Mokona the Creator made a parallel world, Cefiro, which had the different system from the earth because Mokona had deplored the present condition of the earth, say, many wars and environmental pollution.
The group is popular among foreign countries. Especially their "X" is very popular. The tenth volume of "X" dealt with the death of Kamui Shirou's mother. Mr. Kamui Shirou (CV = Mr. Tomokazu Seki) is the hero of the cartoon. His mother died for the earth, for the earth is dying because of climate change on the earth. Kamui's former friend Fuma Monou and his followers wish to destroy the civilization lest the climate on the earth should be changed. On the other hand, Kamui does not want to give up the human relations from past. Then Kamui begins to fight against Fuma.
By the way, what about the 50th century?
Ms Jessie Gartrand (CV = Ms Miki Itou) from TV-animation type "Battle Athletess DAIUNDOUKAI" was born in New York, U.S.A. She was an orphan. She and her infirm younger sister lived at the slums, a "valley" between tall old buildings. The sisters lacked for living expenses. To survive, Jessie stole bread every day. To elude pursuit, she ran fast. She became one of the fastest at last. One day her younger sister, who could not go to hospital, was dead alone. Jessie cried and went to a church. The priest advised her to try to be a sportsman. He was a sportsman formerly and earned living expenses for orphans as a runner in gambling footraces. Thereafter the priest raced Ms Tomoe Midou, Akari's mother. Of course, he was defeated. Jessie was so impressed by Tomoe then that Jessie went to the Earth-Southpole preparatory training school to aim at University Satellite.
At last Jessie became a University Satellite student. However she was defeated by Lahrri (CV = Ms Yuriko Yamaguchi), Cosmo Beauty in 4997 and 4998. She went home in grief. Her priest was blind because he refused Mafia's rigged affair.
TV-animation type Rurouni Kenshin deals with Japan in the Meiji Era and persecution for the secret Christians. Can you show children social, religious and environmental issues clearly? The human beings are surrounded by the Dark Past and the Dark Future.
