Miki and Meiko often change their hair-style, in both the manga and the anime. Especially in the latter it's a a quite unusual rispect the majority of productions. Besides also Yoshizumi, when draws herself in some note, change her hair-style. ^_^
Often Suzu, when she talks about herself, uses her own name instead of use pronouns like "I", "my"... in Japanese it's a normal way to talk, but it's considered a childish way.
In the first season of the anime (but also in the manga) Kei never replies to the regards of other persons than Miki.
The
anime starts to the beginning of the 1° year of high school of Yuu and
Miki (April) and it finishes at the end of the summer of the 2° year
of high school (not counting Meiko's wedding), therefore it lasts a year
and half. The manga has the same beginning but instead it finishes in the
Summer of their first year of university, lasting almost three years and
half.
In Japan there actually exists a group of ice cream shops named Hobson's (Miki works at "Bobson's"), and also the subtitle is alike the one saw in Marmalade Boy. An ice cream shop there is near Shibuya's station, at Tokyo.
Somewhere in Tokyo there exists also a shop relly named K's.
At Yokohama there actually exists an amusement park named Wonder Eggs (in MB was "Wonder Dogs").
Meiko made the permanent to her hair a bit before she started the first year of high school, just before a date with Namura (that was also the last one).
Yoshizumi is a sympathizer of the English soccer team Manchester United.
"Kimi shika iranai" is clearly the opposite fo the Meiko story in Marmalade Boy: here the marriage among the teenager Akane and the grown-up Kizukawa doesn't work after a while, and it will be her classmate Atsumu to win her love.
