The Rooster is honest, frank, obliging, and courageous. But their
principal defects are that they're also vain, thoughtless, and
preoccupied with their appearance. They make wonderful workers,
completely immersing themselves in the task at hand. They're very
extravagant spenders, and cannot resist temptation. Roosters aren't
the luckiest of people-- all their lives, they will be forced to
scratch the earth in search of food. But those who are born in the
spring are more tolerable, as they aren't such braggarts as other
Roosters can be. Roosters cannot live without their admirers; they
enjoy seduction. They also dislike others trying to probe into their
private lives, or attempts to expose their motives. Roosters work
best in commerical professions.
During a Rooster's childhood, youth, and maturity, they will have
a roller coaster life, full of extreme ups and downs. Great joys,
great sorrows, riches, poverty, many friends, solitude. As soon as a
Rooster attains emotional stability, though, and becomes settled in a
profession, his life will calm down. Eventually, all Roosters will
enjoy a happy old age.
Both male and female roosters are charming and precocious in their
love lives. The young female Rooster always has a string of admirers
following her, which she has complete control over. She can be
carried away by passion, but will never lose her head, because under
her carefree and frivolous exterior, there is a keen sense of
responsibility. Male roosters are not always easy to live with, since
they jealously guard their independence and dislike interference.
Tradition has it that they make better friends than lovers because of
their offhand manner and frankness. Young male roosters enjoy the
thrill of the chase, and will rapidly discard those women who give in
too quickly. Difficulty attracts and inspires him. The Rooster will
be faithful, but to several people at one time.
