Sailor Jupiter first appeared during "Sailor Moon." Like Sailor Mercury, Makoto transferred from another school to Juuban, but her reason was for fighting. Usagi first meets Makoto when Usagi bumps into a few guys and they want to pick on Usagi. Luckly, Makoto appeared and beat them up for Usagi. Later, Umino tells Usagi about Makoto and her fighting, and Usagi walks over to befriend Makoto. They begin to get along together because Makoto can cook very very well (You can get the picture). Usagi takes Makoto to the arcade, like she did with Ami, and the see a young man who does very well with the crane game. Makoto sees him and says that he reminds her of her "old boyfriend" (as said in the American version). Following him, Makoto finds out that this guy has strange powers and then finds out that he is a crystal carrier that the Dark Kingdom is looking for. Later, as Makoto and Sailor Moon are fighting the monster the Crane Game guy (If anybody knows his Japanese name, please tell me) has turned into, it is revealed that Makoto is Sailor Jupiter. Luna pops in and gives Makoto the pen thingy and Makoto transforms into Sailor Jupiter. She and Sailor Moon defeat the monster and another Senshi is found.
After losing her parents in a fatal plane crash, Makoto has been living by her self for some time, and because of her parent's death, Makoto has a fear of airplanes. She is an expert cook and wants to open a restuarant for herself. Makoto is actually a very violent girl. Before Juuban Jr. High, it was said that she had gotten in a fight and was expelled from school (according to the American version).
