Half loaf a kung fu; 1977 HK
Jackie Chan stars in this Comedy Adventure in which he displays his vast array of martial artds skills, along with
his comic talents. He stars in this funny, action packed adventure as Jiane, a happy-go-luck orphan who is enlisted
to the 'Sern Chuan Bodyguard'. The film follows his many adventures as the bodyguard is enlisted, to protect the
priceless 'Evergreen Jade'.Director Lo Wei considered this film a rubbish and did not release it. It was released after huge succee of Snake in the Eagle's Shadow which made Jackie a famous name. And Half a loaf.. made a quite good box office, over one million Hong Kong dollars in first two monhs in Hong Kong alone. Lo Wei thought Jackie won't make it. So Jackie had 'free hands' in this film. So this is a comedy, Jackie's character does not know any fighting, although he pretends to be a real fighter. But then he gets in trouble where he must fight.
