Hapkido, 1972

Hapkido is considered to be Samo hung's first starring role. Jackie Chan has only a small role. Three Chinese friends study Hapkido in Korea, which is under Japanese invasion. After they've learned the style from their Chinese master, they move to China and open their own school. After one of the three friends is killed by students of nearby Japanese school, remaining firends and another hapkido instructor defeat the Japanese and destroy their school.

Korean fighter Huang In-Sik played a villain, on the set he did kick to hurt, maybe trying to prove something to Chinese fighters. Bruce Lee heard what was going on and hired Huang for Way of the Dragon. During a pivotal fight scene, Lee out-kicked the Korean but stopped short of actually hurting him. Huang got the point, and the one-upsmanship stopped.
