Killer Meteors; 1977 HK

Filmed 1976
'Poster'

Killer Meteors was filmed in Taiwan. Jackie Chan stars as Hua Wu Pin; and Jimmy Wang Yu features as his adversary Mei-Hsin-Ho in this tale of double-crossing masters of the martial arts. Jackie and Jimmy Wang Yu have a number of exciting confrontations until finally a fierce battle to the death results.

Now we have something which can be called a typical 'kung fu' film of '70s in Hong Kong. One of the worst kind. It contains badly made period pieces and some fake-looking ugly fighting. And actors! Some of the wooden dolls can do better acting. If there is a good reason to watch this film, I don't have any idea what it is. Maybe you have?

When Lo Wei's JC films were also commercially failures, Jackie suggested that they would put in something of his personality, like humor an alike. But Lo Wei did not like the idea and he rejected Jackie's ideas, just like in many other films as well. After all kung fu is a serious business, not for (intentional) humor.
