300 years ago, a warrior by the name of Taishakuten rebelled against the Tentai (the Heavenly Emperor) and started the Holy Wars. During this war, most of the god clans were destroyed. Taishakuten killed the Emperor and the emperor's guardian, Ashura-Oh, and crowned himself the new Tentai of Heaven. The one glitch in his new reign was that a prophecy (see above) foretold the end of his rule and the destruction of Heaven. The prophecy predicted the gathering of six people (the Six Stars) who would overthrow Heaven. RG Veda (pronounced Rig Veda) is the story of the Six Stars. In the beginning, there was only Ashura, the "Dark Star", and Ashura's protector, Yasha. They begin searching for the other Six Stars and as the story goes on, Ryuu, Karura, and Sohma join Ashura and Yasha. Now all they need is the last Star to destroy Taishaku-Ten. But this is Clamp, and nothing is ever simple and the ending is usually tragic...
