His comment that this picture reminded him of shades or echoes from the past because of the black and white picture contributed to the naming of this skin as "Shadows of the Past". I personally agree with this idea, because the gray tones do make me think of old black and white pictures, associating with the past, and the idea that memories of the past fade away.
