New Board Elected

This serves to advise all Black belts and students of the Jamaica TaeKwon-Do Association that a new board of directors has been elected at the Association's Annual General meeting held at the SDF Offices on Sunday, December 12, 2005.

The new board is as follows:

President Mr. Cyril Joseph, III Dan
1st Vice President Mr. Atruhur Barrows, IV Dan (Liason for Gups)
2nd Vice President Mr. Ryan Rampair , IV Dan ( Liason for Black Belts)
Secratary Miss Joleen Masters, III Dan
Treasurer Mr. Carlyle Gray, IV Dan
Dir. of Marketing Mr. Jason MacKay, II Dan
Dir. of Discipline Mr. Herbert Stewart, V Dan
Chief Instructor Mr. Peter Lue, VI Dan (automatic)

These positions stand for the next two years.

Six new Black belts and other promotions this month
On Saturday, November 13, Chief Instructor Mr. Peter Lue, VI Dan, assisted by 5th Dans Messrs Chin, Stewart, Ho-on and Chin-Hing, graded 6 Black-Stripes to the rank of 1st Dan Black belt.
Those promoted were Mr. Oswald Campbell and Nicholas Dusaint from Kingston, Mr. Tory ____ from Mandeville, and Mr. Alrick Wanliss Sr., his daughter Aloe Wanliss, and Shya Shakur from Montego Bay.
Also grading from 2nd to 3rd Dan was Mr. Lenford 'Captain' Heron from Mandeville.

Two grade to IV Dan

Congratulations to Mr. Junior Robinson and Dr. Clement Officer, both of whom were promoted to 4th Dan this past weekend by Master Trân Triêu Quân, 8th Degree Black Belt and President of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation. Master Trân was in Jamaica as part of the Jamaica TaeKwon-Do Association's 30th Anniversary Celebrations where he was the guest of honour at the celebratiory banquet held on Saturday at the Terra Nova hotel. Also in the4 island

Also in the island for promotion to 4th Dan was Mr. Norberto Taveras from the Dominican Republic.

Master Trân also conducted a 2 day training seminar for Gups and Dans over the weekend, where he went through patterns, sparring and Self defense techniques.

TKD celebrates 30 years in Jamaica
The Jamaica TaeKwon-Do Associatoin is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. We would like to achknowledge those who have paved the way for us over the years:

We would lik to thank those instructors who have contributed to the deveolpment of the Jamaica TaeKwon-Do Association, both with respect to technique and the mental aspect. They are:

To mark the occasion of the 30th Anniversary, the President of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation, Master Trân Triêu Quân will be coming to Jamaica to conduct a training seminar on Febrary 28 and 29th. Master Tran will arrive in Jamaica with his wife on February 26 and leave on March 3rd.

Also on Febraury 28, the association will also be having a banquet to celebrate the 30th anniversary. The Seminar runs for 2 days and will be held at the Campion College Auditorium, while the banquet will be held at the Terra Nova Hotel in Kingston.
