Loves the mountain enjoys hiking in her spare time. Her work is usually about ballet, it's a very light read. If you have read one of her work, you've read the rest since the plot and the way the main character looks never changes. After a while they do get very repetitive and tedious, however if you have never read any of her stuff it's a nice enough read.

Ushijima Keiko 牛島 慶子

Born on 6 Th. of July, blood type A. The image on the left does not look like her drawing style in any way. Ushijima sensei has an angular style of drawing with beautiful charachter design. I love the way she draws her animal and children.

A plainer, more "grown up" style compared to some manga artists. Beautiful grasp of story lines, gentle but intricate at the same time. There's one thing that's rather interesting about this author she's a big fan of Kitano, the actor/director for Hana-bi. If you look carefully sometimes she uses the kind of camera angles and characterisation as Kitano in some of her works.

She's quite well known for her works in Nakayoshi, style of drawing is very cute, and very typical to the magazine she works on. Her plot usualy involves the boy meet girls at school variety. Her work are comparatively light and innocent, but they can still appeal to a wide audience.

Yamato Waki 大和 和紀

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1951. My all time favorite author. Her work tends to have theme relating to Japan in some ways.In Haikara san ga toru she wrote the story around real life events which occured in Tokyo in the early 20 th century. Yamato likes using strong female charachters, with rather outspoken views about the role of women in society. Her use of humour is great, and you won't feel unsatisfied once you finish one of her comic. (As a side note to Takeuchi Naoko sensei's fans, Takeuchi mentioned Yamato sensei in one of her illustration books saying how much she admired Yamato sensei's work)

However, things change when the two starts to realise their mutual attraction. Unfortunately Shinobu was then sent to fight against the Russian and his death forced Benio herself to modernize in order to survive.
