This is where I write a blurb about things concerning wushu. For now, its more of like personal blurbs on wushu events.

Well, I'm finally finished university now and I'm going to go to Taiwan. It should be so awesome. The first thing that I have to do is find a kickass wushu school. I wonder how it'll be? I have to work full-time and then train. I hope its like the training in Japan. Well, good-bye Canada and hello Taiwan.

On June 23, there will be a pretty big tournament in Ottawa. Supposedly its gonna be a big tournament with Karate, TaeKwondo Wushu etc. I hope it goes well So far, Wushu/Kungfu tournaments have been done really badly in Canada. They are nowhere near as good as the SKII tournaments. Now only if all of the Wushu and Kungfu schools could get along and organize themselves. I've been to a few of these meetings and it's really terrible. We'll see how the new generation of sifu's will organize things.

I saw the Grandmasters demo today. It was cancelled last week due to the typhoon in China. We were lucky to see a demonstration from a team in China. Unfortunately, I didn't think that they were all that good. They were a childrens team and were not of the caliber of the likes of Wu gang. Wayland Li represented Canada Wushu and did an okay job. The big disappointment was the 3-section staff though. A member of the china team was supposed to do it but since the people didn't want scratches on the floor, he couldn't do it properly. There was a really good mantis set though. The crazy thing was that it was from a 77 yr-old man! Well, thats all for now folks.

This was the day of the CCKSF tournament. For me it was a long day. I had to be a judge for the wushu division. It sort of dragged and dragged. I still don't know how judges do that. As for the competition. It was okay. I think the only schools were Christian wushu fellowship Sunny Tang, and Wayland Li. As usual, you could hear Sifu Lee chi wai bellowing, "wooomans sparring" in his funny husky voice. The Sunny Tang school showed a very powerful style of wushu this time around. They had this crazy power. As for Wayland Li they opted for more cleanness and technic.
some notables for the wushu was Wei Jen Lee and the Nathon Tong's Nan quan. Personally, I that his Nanquan was better than many people who tried out for the team in Vancouver.

Well, as for the nationals in Vancouver, lots to say. All of the suddent, the judges for the taolu changed to American judges. weird eh? Canadian team trials judged by the Americans. The tournament carpet was pretty shitty...yes, industrial carpet. Once again, there was much contoversy with the judging. When will this fighting all stop? This was my first time for me to compete for the team. I even got to compete against my former sifu. Who gets that kind of chance? As for me, its back to hard training so I can hopefully kick some ass next time around. I made some more friends this time and got to finally see the "wushu munchkin" marvin wong. funny little guy. I kinda like him. well, thats all for now. ciao!
