Truly my best friend in Battlefield, me and Meandean must have 300 hours playing together. I know his moves and strategies like nobody else and he is without a doubt one of the most skilled on the field today. These things coupled with his amazing personality make him one of the true legends that rarely come along in this game. 

The following interview was conducted by F-14 Tomcat the afternoon of December 4th, 2003, and is being submitted for the war correspondent award.

F-14 Tomcat: Good evening Meandean and thanks for the interview!

Meandean: no problem man

F-14 Tomcat: How are you today?

Meandean: beat up

F-14 Tomcat: lol, work?

Meandean: Yes worked a couple hours overtime in the rain

F-14 Tomcat: ooh, sounds fun

F-14 Tomcat: while were on the subject

F-14 Tomcat: what do you do?

Meandean: I'm the lead technician at the local cable company

F-14 Tomcat: Oooh, Mr Fancy Pants eh?

F-14 Tomcat: Sounds like your not doing too bad for yourself

Meandean: lol if you say so

F-14 Tomcat: lol

F-14 Tomcat: I've seen your picture and I have to ask how long have you 
had 
such a thick manly moustache?

F-14 Tomcat: I tried to grow mine and its sorta sad :-\

Meandean: lol i've had mine since i was 18 or so

F-14 Tomcat: ooh

F-14 Tomcat: there’s hope for me yet

F-14 Tomcat: lol

Meandean: lol

F-14 Tomcat: Even Battlefield oldtimers give you respect for being 
around so 
long, so how and when did you discover battlefield?

Meandean: in 97 my son was playing around on bonus and i asked what 
that 
tank game was, from then on i was hooked lol

F-14 Tomcat: hehe, good story

F-14 Tomcat: And why are you still playing?

Meandean: well it was just a way for me to relax when i got home but in 
the 
last year or so it's become alot more fun and entertainment because of 
the 
people i've met on aim

F-14 Tomcat: awww, ain’t you sweet, lol

Meandean: rofl

F-14 Tomcat: What teams have you been on/are you on, and what did you 
think 
of them?

Meandean: man there's soooo many

F-14 Tomcat: lol

F-14 Tomcat: list the best

F-14 Tomcat: don’t worry about all our n00b teams together, lol

Meandean: lol

Meandean: well i have to say the PK team was really the first big team 
i was 
on and i met alot of good guys. Then it was strikers just for a short 
time 
before they disbanded. And of course IQ, we owned. Now the jets and 
we're 
still owning.

Meandean: yea buddie

F-14 Tomcat: Does anybody in your family play the game? Or at least 
make fun 
of you for it (like mine, lol)?

F-14 Tomcat: They call me battlefield boy, lmfao

Meandean: no one plays it but me but do catch alot of flack for it

F-14 Tomcat: lol

F-14 Tomcat: welcome to the club

Meandean: bahahaha man i'm not in the hunt anymore i got my California

Meandean: yeah now that i moved out of the central valley, the air was 
getting greenish brown from all the agriculture and dairies

F-14 Tomcat: What do you like to do to relax (outside of battlefield)?

Meandean: Well i live in northern Cali now so i like to ocean and river 
fish. I play a little golf now and then to

F-14 Tomcat: sounds nice

F-14 Tomcat: Now it is a well known fact that there are 2 meandeans. 
Meandean (who I am interviewing) and MeanDean (the evil clone). Until 
recently you guys had the exact same awards right down to rusty. How 
has 
this affected you?

Meandean: it wouldn't have been so bad but the evil one isn’t that good 
of a 
player even after all these years. I have also been bothered to death 
with 
questions like, how could have had rusty and a single star lmfao

F-14 Tomcat: lol

F-14 Tomcat: people still mistake you two eh

F-14 Tomcat: funny, lol

Meandean: not as much now i've got a cup

F-14 Tomcat: Comment on the tank name somebody played to battered 
"meandeanbites".

F-14 Tomcat: Could it be someone you deactivated and got mad? or 
perhaps he 
is talking about the other one?

Meandean: man i dunno what i did to the guy but that name bites lol. 
Funny 
thing is he always says hi to me and wants to team up so maybe he means 
something else by it

Meandean: ALL kinds

Meandean: well all the old rock Led Zep and Aerosmith ;-)

F-14 Tomcat: Heh, I remember when I went in as an email and we first 
got aim 
together. What effect do you think the discovery of AIM, and ICQ 
programs 
have had on the game?

F-14 Tomcat: On your game in particular.

Meandean: man it was like coming out of the dark and into the light

F-14 Tomcat: hah

F-14 Tomcat: nicely put

Meandean: i have learned so much and met so many

F-14 Tomcat: yeah

F-14 Tomcat: i know what you mean

F-14 Tomcat: so much stuff was going on that i had no idea about

Meandean: some greats and some lamos

F-14 Tomcat: What do you think of events in the world these days? War? 
Terrorism? Racism? Etc.

Meandean: the war and terrorism just scares the crap outta me. the 
racism 
just make me sick. i try to imagine how some of even the bf players 
that 
post on boards are being raised.

Meandean: man i get all my movies free on pay per view cable. i have to

your wife. How do you feel about that?

Meandean: hey she's hot what can i say. i'm pretty good about taking

you 
two, he had this to say: FrostBITE: but i hear Meandean is older, and 
i'm 
young and strong ect... so i'd probably win :-P. So who do you think 
would 
win?

Meandean: that's a tough one since i don’t know his size but i'm not 
that 
old and and in pretty good shape so bring it frosty

of

Meandean: well i would add some servers if that’s what it took to fix 
the 
lag and i don’t think it would be too tough to be a little more fair 
with 
players requests and awards

F-14 Tomcat: Who are some of your favorite battlefield players?

Meandean: man that’s a long list but in the old days it had to players 
like 
Frostbite, snow, Low Flyer (who is still around), the original sirus7, 
Flyseggs, anten and falon. mostly blue you notice. Now days its gotta 
be 
carnage, MurdaNdaFLESH, SSGoten and Trunks, Twizted, NN2, Somebody, 
Master 
of Disaster, Kuniva, Angelus, Bakerbob, Angel of Death man there's too 
many 
to list lol

battlefield, and 
tell yourself some things about playing battlefield, what would you

yourself?

Meandean: i would tell myself to get a better comp and connection 
before you 
start playing and NEVER quit low or run unless your out of duals lol

Meandean: I think i would interview SavinRyann or Kuniva because they 
are 
both good guys and good player that came back to the game after 
retirement. 
It would be interesting to see why.

Meandean: Yeah i have a HUGE complaint for all you newbies out 
here...QUIT RUNNING AND QUITTING, FIGHT LIKE A MAN. It's only a rank you can get it 
back

worse 
so far
