Well the domain name request went through, just waiting on the server now. Important stuff: there's a good chance that old browsers won't run this new layout I'm developing. If you happened to look at the source code for this page I'm using external style sheets(CSS) and Netscape doesn't seem to support it fully. Internet Explorer 4+ seems to have no problems what-so-ever...
News: 07-16-00 / New Look
This will offer you a brief glimpse of what I'm working on. In addition to the new graphics I've been designing I'll be using designs(like this one) for content on the heXpirates.com site. Also below is an interview with Dave, the webmaster of heXpirates.com

Here are a few links that should keep a few of you guys busy. =) | |
Interview with Dave - 07-14-00 GMT EST 10:55AM Q: So Dave...what the hell is it that your going to do? heXpirates? What the hell kind of name is that? A: Shut up. I do what I want. Don't make me slap you. Q: Seriously, what is it? A: Well it's going to be a little like organized anarchy. The Net is a big place with alot of stuff. Skating, the focus of my old page, was just a small slice. I've decided to move on to bigger things but I'll still be maintaining the old page. I'm gonna even vamp. Q: Speaking of vamping and updating...what the hell is wrong with you that you can't update your existing page every so often? There's crap there from last halloween damnit! A: I said don't make me slap you. I've been busy. I work and I do school and I skate and I program and I do a whole bunch of other stuff. I'm busy you goonie. Q: So when is heXpirates gonna be done? A: When I finish it. I'm going to be registering the domain name soon so YES. I will be a dot.com thing. Expect www.hexpirates.com. I'll be either using my own computer as a server, FTP probably, and/or using Network Solutions for hosting so that I can use some cgi-bin scripts and ASP stuff. Q: Huh? A: Nevermind, you'll see. Q: So where did you come up for the idea and the name "heXpirates"? A: Well I was sitting at the computer one night brainstorming and I thought to myself...gee...I should make another web page. I started thinking about what to make it on...hacking, more skating, programming, etc. Then I thought...why limit myself? If I update it often as a source of news on a variety of fronts...that would rule. I'm also looking into getting some help from a few friends of mine as far as content goes. As for the name all I can tell you is that the "hex" is from "hexidecimal" which is the color code used by HTML and that "pirates" is a slang term for anyone who fights for freedom of information. Of course that sort of carries a bit of legal problems with it..but I'll explain that when I make the site. After this Dave went to get a snack and I had to wait for like 10 minutes for him to sit down again, he's such a doofus Q: Is it true that you write almost all of your HTML in straight hard code?? A: Yep. I've been doing it that way since I started. I just used notepad or pico depending on what kind of operating system I was on. I sat down one night about 2 years ago and just taught it to myself. Q: I've heard rumors of you calling yourself a hacker or something, what's up with that? A: Well I'm a computer freak, and while I don't technically hack I'm fascinated with the ideas and concepts surrounding it. I'll be posting the hacker manifesto and some other stuff when the site goes up. E-mail Dave at : dafcarte@indiana.edu Send him questions, comments, suggestions, etc. Also, if your into to web design and crap hardcore style give me an e-mail.
