Will there be any cowboys in Heaven

Tune:"Hobo's Mediation"
By David Averill

Will there be any cowboys in heaven? Any heroes with whom we might ride?

Will there be any white hats and six-guns? Any good guys to be on our side?

Will there be any sagebrush and prairie, for Champion and Trigger to roam?

Will the be a place for the cowpokes in that faraway heavenly home?

There's a whole passel 'a cowboys up here, Gene and Roy

So pack up your saddles and boots

The only trouble is, we're all homesick for bad guys to round up and shoot.

You won't find any bad guys in heaven, no dry - gulchin' ornery galoots

You won't find any horn - swagglin' varmints, no outlaws at whom you might shoot.

We're all one big happy posse, rough riders with nothing to fear

We welcome our newest compadres - two more signing cowboys up here

We welcome our nest compadres

Two more singing cowboys up here
