| The Tulsa Press Club Educational and Charitable Trust
announced in January that Chuck Cissel, executive director of the Oklahoma
Jazz Hall of Fame, will be the director of the 2001 show.
The Trust has been considering a move to a new location for several years," said D.J. Morrow Ingram, Trust chair. "The Bernsen Center offers a more intimate setting and better parking that the convention center. We think the audience will love the move." Cissel was named director of the show following the resignation of Vic Bastien who has directed the Gridiron for five years. "Selecting a new director was difficult", said Ingram. "We wanted someone who could help us adjust to the new setting and 'jazz' things up a bit. Getting Cissel was a wonderful stroke of luck." Cissel, a Tulsa native, recently returned to Tulsa from an outstanding career on Broadway and in music and television.
