Well, since I'm writing this, I guess you can tell that I didn't get eaten by a bear on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night:) Fortunately, one of my friends went with me to the bathroom, otherwise, I think I would've been kind of scared to go and my bladder would've exploded:) We left Kings Canyon and made our way to our next stop, the Best Western Gateway hotel in Oakhurst, where we planned to stay the night while we visited Yosemite. We had a really big room here - it was probably close to the size of my entire apartment. We unpacked our stuff, and I called my mom to find out how my cats were doing while I was away. She said that they seemed to be doing just fine without me, and she convinced me to change my plane tickets and stay an extra day in CA, so that we would have 2 days to see Yosemite, as opposed to only a few hours. We talked on the phone for about 20 minutes, and then I hung up to get ready for the drive to Yosemite. The drive up was wonderful, and full of exciting and breathtaking sights. On the way, we drove through a town called, of all things, Fish Camp:) Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd want to have a return address of Fish Camp, CA - I can only imagine the jokes people living there must hear all the time. If you're a railroad buff, the town is home to the Yosemite Sugar Pine RailRoad. Once we entered the main gate of Yosemite, there are no words to describe how beautiful it was. I don't think that even pictures can compare to the feeling you get as you see all of the breath-taking peaks and waterfalls. You really have to go there and see it to get the full feeling of awe and wonder. One thing you definitely want to do if you plan to stay there and walk around in the evening is insect repellant, because there were lots of mosquitos, even in the lobby of the famous (and very expensive) Ahwahnee Hotel. Another really pretty hotel there is the Wawona Hotel. Personally, although the Ahwahnee is a landmark and quite impressive, I liked the Best Western better, even if there was too much chlorine in the jacuzzi. |

My friends were awake, dressed and ready for breakfast by the time I woke up. Since they were both hungry and both by now realize that I'm a very slow mover in the mornings, they offered to pick up my breakfast for me, and bring it back to the room. We didn't have to check out of the room until 1:00PM, so we rented Flubber and 101 Dalmations and watched both of them while I ate my breakfast and got my stuff packed. While I'm on the subject of movies, I forgot to mention that over the weekend, we went to a huge 21-movie theatre and saw Dr. Doolittle with Eddie Murphy. It was hilarious, and, while not like the original at all, still a good movie to see. This time when we went to Yosemite, we took one of their free shuttle buses so that we could see more of the park. I'm hoping that all of my pictures come out okay, especially the ones of the Lower Yosemite Falls. We also got an extra special treat, because while we were sitting outside at Yosemite Village, a young deer came up close enough to the area and I took several pictures. It was a young buck and he still had velvet on his antlers, and he didn't seem afraid of the people taking his picture at all. |

I'm not going to write about today, because it was pretty sad all-around. I'm not really even sure what all happened. I just want to say that I care about my friends very much, no matter what happens. |

Not a whole heck of a lot to write about today, unless you want to read about me fidgeting and snoring on the plane all the way home:) My cats acted like they missed me and were glad to see me for about a half hour, and then went back to ignoring me and sleeping as usual:) It was good to sleep in my own bed with my cat Trouble all curled up next to me again. |

I woke up this morning to my cat Max grooming my head, and hair full of cat spit. I guess he really did miss me after all:) The rest of the day was spent catching up on e-mails and messages, with a short trip to the VFW to see my friends for a bit. |

Today was spent mainly vegging out at home, since I really didn't feel like doing too much. I didn't even do anything worth writing about, unless you're really interested in hearing about my 6 games of #Trivbot:) |

Today was kind of ridiculous, in that one of the guys down at the VFW made a major issue of wanting to turn off the new CD jukebox so that he could hear oldies on the old jukebox. Of course, it was my money in the new machine, so when he pulled the plug on it in the middle of my music, I kinda got a little peeved. All he had to do was ask me nicely, and I wouldn't've cared. To add insult to injury, he didn't even put any money in the machine - he opened it up and put a whole slew of free credits on it! I think right now he's ticked several people off, and folks are going to be talking about this one for quite a while. |
