Ok, it's time for one of my favorite questions in life: What ARE men thinking when they put one of those cheap toupeés on their heads??? Do they really think they look better with something that looks like roadkill on their heads than they would bald??? I swear, every time I see one of those, I just want to reach over and yank the damn thing off! The other thing that I can't stand are those horrid comb-overs. You know the guys I'm talking about - they have about six really long strands of hair on one side of their heads that they not-so-artfully arrange over their bald spot. Only problem is, when the wind blows, or if they have to bend over to tie their shoe or something, those six strands take on a life of their own! Don't they look in the mirror and realize how stupid they look? |

Today I spent most of the day at my sister's, with her and my new niece, Erica Ann. My sister and brother-in-law are moving into their new house on Monday, so I went over to help my sister out while she packed/threw stuff out. Erica Ann is just so precious, and I don't know if I can really describe the feeling of love, joy and wonder that I get when I look at her, or when I hold her. I think this kid is going to be seriously spoiled by at least one of her aunts! |

Today, I surprised myself by getting up and being in the mood to rid myself of lots of the clutter in my life. My first step in this effort was to go on a cleaning spree in my bathroom! Not only did I wash the floor and do a general cleaning, but I also went through my medicine cabinet and threw out a bunch of makeup, etc. that I haven't used in years. After I did that, I sat down and thought about some of the e-mail lists, etc. that I belong to, and eliminated at least 3 of them. I'm finding that there are activities, projects and other things that, while they may have filled a need/purpose when I first started them, now seem more like a distraction or worse, like work! Over the next week or so, I plan on taking a good long look at some of these and making my graceful exit wherever possible. Now...if I could just work up the same enthusiasm for cleaning out my walk-in closet, I'd be in business! |
