If we shrunk the world's population to a village of 100 people, it would look approximately like this:
- There would be 57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 8 Africans, and 14 would be from the Western Hemisphere (North and South America).
- 70 would be non-white and 30 would be white.
- 30 would be Christians, 18 Moslems, 13 Hindus, 6 Buddhists, 5 Animists, and 28 would be other, Atheist or no religion.
- 50% of the village's wealth would be in the hands of 6 people. These 6 people would be United States Citizens.
- 70 would be unable to read.
- 50 would suffer from malnutrition.
- 80 would live in substandard housing.
- 1 would have a college education.
When we consider our world from this perspective the value of both tolerance and understanding becomes apparent.

How many times have you heard, and maybe even said,"I am not prejudiced" or "I do not judge anyone." I challenge you to read this information and consider your own actions and beliefs, regardless of your race or ethnic background on these two issues.
I feel that until people encounter and deal with their true feelings about differences in people discrimination will not end. This does not only pertain to race discrimination.
It can also involve class, health, disability, sexual, or gender discrimination as well.
In my nearly half a century of life I have seen many improvements in the way people treat their neighbors. However, I now see things that upset me a lot. Things like an upswing in gangs based on ethnicity, feelings of hatred and jealousy that preclude human kindness, denial of human dignity of mankind through poverty and violence, and increased child abuse and poverty. I believe all humans have an inherent dignity and worth and that no one should judge another.
I believe human suffering will not end until we all accept ourselves as equal members of the family of God. After all, we ALL came from Adam and Eve.
