International Web Access- The Tutorial

Step Five -Backtracking and exiting.

If you are searching internationally, it is important that you know how to move around in Netscape quickly and efficiently and also know how to return to a NZ site and how to exit Netscape.
This step has three parts to read before you answer the questions
  1. Backtracking with the Back Button and the Go feature
  2. Returning Home
  3. Exiting Netscape

    Backtracking
The Back Button on the toolbar is the button you will use most often for this but sometimes it is quicker to use Go from the menu above the buttons. Under Go, you would find a list of the sites you have been visiting so you could return to a site you visited earlier very quickly and easily. Of course you could keep pushing Back, until you return to the page you wanted but each intervening page has to load so it is slower and more expensive.

    Returning Home
The Home button takes you to the Lincoln University students homepage. This means you can quickly get back to a NZ site if you need to.

    Exiting Netscape
There is no Exit button. It is under File on the menu. This is similar to most Windows programmes. Don't exit now though! Stay with us. Onwards to the questions!!

Questions to answer

  1. What does Go feature allow you to do that the Back button doesn't.?

  2. Where will the Home button take you?
