| The summit of Mt. Rolliston (2275m) towers over the headwaters of the
Crow River when looking north from Avalanche Peak. From other sides this
mountain shows itself as a fine spire. If you keep quiet on the top of
Avalanche Peak then you may hear the thunder as chunks drop off the ice cliffs
of Crow Glacier. Crow River and its hut can be visited from here by walking
north for 1.5 kilometres to the third depression on the ridge. There a stake
and cairn mark a scree-run all the way to the valley floor. |
