On this picture you see the edge of the inland ice (100 meters
above sealevel). From this edge tons of ice break off. This
happens in summer every three weeks or so, when a 5km. piece of
ice can break of at once.
One of my favorites. After sometime the iceberg can break, because of its internal pressure. That's why the icebergs can have some different forms. This picture was taken from the boat from Ilulissat to Qeqetarsuaq (Disko-island)
An ice "cathedral" floating in open sea. It can take up to seven years until the iceberg is melt down.
