Words by which I strive to live my life
I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. Grellet
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Buscaglia
Music
If there are young children in your life to whom you would like to introduce classical music, I highly recommend "Peter and the Wolf" by
Sergei Prokofiev
. The music and story hold their attention while the narrator introduces the sounds of different instruments and the character each represents (i.e. the oboe = the cat, the flute, Peter, etc.) Both my daughters love this piece (so do I).
Driving around here can be quite stressful, therefore, I usually refrain from anything which has to be played loudly in the car (unless I'm on the highway). The artist whose music I enjoy most after a stressful day at work is
George Winston
Since I grew up in the 60's and 70's, I listen to alot of rock and roll. For the times I REALLY want to clean the house, all it takes is a couple cups of coffee and some Traffic, Peter Gabriel, Yes, etc. and my house is spotless in no time. (No one is speaking to me by the time I'm done, but what do I care? I couldn't hear them if they did).
I also enjoy bluegrass music, however, it's got to be live and in the mountains.
