This is it! The last Friday of camp. The day I thought would never come at the start of the summer, finally came, and it was sooner than I had hoped it would. The camp went really well. Nina was not feeling all that great close to the end of the day so I took over her group for a workshop or two.

I'm not so sure how the kids felt about it being the last day, they did seem a bit disappointed. One kid kept saying it sucked because it was the last day. He wanted camp to go on for at least another week. But we were just glad that it was finally over.

After the Swap Shop was finished for the day we packed it and every workshop into the van. I "accidentally" dropped the computer on the ground putting a few dents in it but it was never going to be used for anything ever again anyway since almost all of the stuff had been lost or stolen anyway. But we got the whole van packed in record time (guess it helps to have most things packed the night before eh?) and I laid a patch of rubber on the way out of the parking lot. Well actually I skidded the tires in the sand in the parking lot but the thought was there anyway.

We all get home and are just glad that it's over. I had started packing when supper was ready so I sat down to eat with Nina and Phil. We started to talk about how long it would take us to get home. They asked me that if we left right now when would we get home. I told them around 1:00 Saturday afternoon (it was 7:00 Friday night). They kind of looked at each other then at me and asked if it was ok with me to leave tonight. I wasn't all that picky so I said sure and we rushed through supper and packed up all our stuff that we were taking home with us. We were ready to go by 9:00 and we were just about to leave when Laura came home. She had gone to meet Les since he was in town and had the pictures that Nina and Phil had forgotten to pick up in Atikokan. We said good-bye to Laura, jumped in the van and drove for about 18 straight hours. We did stop for gas a couple of times and then stopped at my cottage in Sowerby to visit my grandparents and mooch some food. Nina and Phil went for a swim while I showed everyone (including Tom and Joyce who came over) my photos of the summer. Then we piled back into the van and headed home.

We dropped Nina off first and she almost started to cry when we said good-bye. Good thing she didn’t because I'm not sure I would have been able to not cry with her. Then I dropped off Phil and when to visit mom at the Scout camp a day early. She was surprised to see me but glad that I was home.

All in all I had an amazing summer, met some really great people and had one of the best times of my life. I would do this again in a second if I were given the opportunity.

So that's it, the end of my journal. Almost all of my misadventures and thoughts for two whole months for the world to read should they decide too. Hope you enjoyed it.
