Well today was an another scorcher. Have to get my shorts cleaned soon otherwise I'm gonna die.

The kids seem to be having gobs of fun and that's cool. They should be DROOLING when rockets come on Thursday. We took the older group out to float their boats in the creek. Everything was cool when I left but then the kids ended up in the water, which was bad. There could be hell to pay if work finds out. Oh well I'll blow that bridge when I come to it.

We finally get out of the school and go shopping for stuff. We plan on scrapping steam engines and replacing it. We buy some fruit, wires and nails. Details on that later.

Forgot to mention that I went to Don Meaney's place today. He didn't recognize me right away but after a while it came back to him. I ordered Jenn's birthday present and a few gifts for the rest of the crew. I have to pick them up Saturday.

We get back home, go for a swim then Laura and I go for a paddle. It felt great to get back on the water again. We tool around two islands close to the camp. And you know what? You can see that Goddamned van from across the lake! We go rock hopping for a while (Laura's butt got wet) then paddle back.

I eat supper then we get down to fix it and science. I fixed the rocket launcher. Really nothing wrong with it in the first place. So it's the engines because the igniters work fine too. Then we do the fruit experiment (GERLEO) and it works. Tomorrows challenge is to find the most electrical fruit. Then we do the conductivity experiment. It works wonderfully. So after that we play games. I'll be close at hand for this workshop.

We didn't get everything accomplished that we should have but the important stuff is done and in the end that's all that counts. I think too that this place is good for us. I'm going to read my book for a while since I've drank about 1L of Pepsi at this point and I won't be able to sleep a wink.
