McGuckin Memories Hoedown
We’d like to sing for you this simple song
We’ll try to keep it fun and not too long
It’s about Derek who is a new divine master
And he will soon, oh my goodness, be a pastor!
What will we remember when we hear his name?
Well, for sure, that he taught us many a board game!
Oh, please there is more, oh don’t be a skeptic
You got to love a guy who taught us the kingdom is proleptic!
Then there was that recent Crossroad’s exclusive
When we took a Philippians Three excursive
And took a wild ride in a kayak and a canoe
Really, It’s there in the passage, who knew?
But seriously folks, he taught us a lot about unity
And how growth is through Christ and community
We will miss his passion for sharing the Word
As It is off to serve where the call he has heard
So it is with much sweet sad sorrows
That we wish him the best of tomorrows
To him, his little ones and wonderful wife
All the best for a full and happy life
