Letter from Fr. Albert Opiniano to Mano Boy Almendra
Greetings!
I received your letter dated February 24, 2003. Last
January I send a written receipt to Eva Argate the
donation that I received while I was in States. I hope
she informed you about it. Thank you very much.
Don't worry that I was not able to visit your chapter,
I was even happy because I was able to go home earlier
and besides I'd been in those places before.
With regards to our construction of the new parish
rectory I informed the Parish Pastoral Council that we
have to raise one million pesos first before we can
start the project. The total cost of the project is
five million pesos. The Tausa Southern California
Chapter will raise five thousand dollars not included
the abuyognon in Las Vegas. Next month we are planning
to have a fund raising. It is a concert to be
performed by one of the famous filipino singer Jose
Mari Chan. We are not sure yet of his schedule and the
most important is whether we can pay his talent fee.
It's good that you have already the copies of the
pledges. I don't know, for me if you wait for the
fiesta it's too far already. As I have told you we
have to raise 1M before we can start. I hope you can
make it earlier.
For your information we have a new building donated by
the Carmelo family in Nalibunan. I supervised the
transfer of the house and lot to the archdiocese. It
is new and beautiful building. The intention of the
donor is to make the building a parish library and
museum. Once the owner will take her final rest
because she is already 94 years old we can use the
building for that purpose.
Regards to your members!
Sincerely,
Fr. Nene

In behalf of the Sipaco Family, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your prayers and in honoring my mother. I am sure she will be missed dearly.
