Episode 3: Omake Theater Not Included
Author’s Note: This takes place shortly after the final parts of Blue Seed, I have no idea what the hell happens in Blue Seed 2. Wisely, I’ve abandoned trying to fit that story in with this one, therefore there shall be no mention of any new characters that may have been introduced in that series, thanks for your time, NOW READ!!!
Voices…figures…all around. His eyes came into focus, and he saw he was surrounded by a group of people. They were looking down at him, some with looks of worry, other’s with looks of fear.
"Hey he’s opening his eyes!" said a man to his right. Then all the memories flooded back into his head, Cell, the jumpers, the fact that he was now in a different universe. He slowly got to his feet, the people around backed off a bit. He looked around, seems he had appeared right in the middle of a busy street, good thing he hadn’t got ran over, some of the cars might’ve gotten damaged. Suddenly a wind surrounded him, which startled some of the spectators, and he took off into the sky, leaving the crowd to look up in wonder.
"Ah, much better!" Deadeye said as he looked around the city from is elevated vantage point. Of course, that didn’t help much, he still didn’t know which universe he was in. It looked like just a normal city! Like every other city he’d ever seen. He sensed some odd powers though, they did not feel like ki, or mana, but rather something else…No time for that! Cell was out there somewhere, and he’d go straight for the biggest power. Which one was that? He scanned the horizon again, searching for powers, he spotted an incredibly powerful one. He then took off in that direction. But suddenly he felt something else, something familiar, Cell! He was headed in that direction too! Deadeye powered up and took off at full speed, Cell was almost there already!
Kusanagi stood on the rooftop overlooking the city. He was so glad all this shit was over with, Kaede and Lord Suzanoho (I know I didn’t spell that right.) were gone until they were needed again, and the Aragami were sleeping once again. Momiji was with her friends from the T.A.C. for a sort of reunion, except for Azusa Matsudaira who was spending time with her son, and he’d decided to just return to the rooftops for a while. Honestly, he liked it up there. However then he felt something, burning on his hand… He looked at his hand, the Metama there had burned through his glove and it was glowing a golden yellow. It wasn’t reacting to an Aragami, it was something else! He heard the sound of feet touching down behind him…
"Well, you certainly are powerful for your race." Said a voice behind him, he whirled around and saw something that looked kind of like an Aragami, but wasn’t. He couldn’t see a Metama on it anywhere! It stood about 7 feet tall, it was green with black spots all over it, it’s skin was like sections of armor. It’s face was normal enough, but his head had a crown of sorts on it. He had two oval wings that were tucked behind him.
"What the hell are you?!" Kusanagi asked, the blades in his forearms were already out.
"I should be asking you tha…" Suddenly the Thing froze with an odd look on it’s face and turned around to see someone silhouetted against the sun…
KAME… HAME…
It acted fast, bringing it’s arm up to point at figure.
HAAA!!!!!!!
With that, a gigantic beam of blue energy started advancing on the thing. However, the Thing casually launched it’s own beam at it, piercing it down the middle causing it to disintegrate all together. Then there was a blinding explosion, the mere force of it sent Kusanagi sailing into the air landing him on another rooftop nearby. He quickly got back to his feet and jumped from rooftop to rooftop back to the spot.
"You never answered me! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Kusanagi demanded a second time. It turned it’s head.
"Very well then, I am Cell, and I am here to absorb you into my being." Cell said, then walked over to a spot where a person lay unmoving. He picked the person up by the collar of his shirt and Kusanagi saw him for the first time. He was a boy, had brilliant spiky golden hair, and greenish blue eyes. Slung across his back was a gigantic sword. In his current state he didn’t look so good, he simply hung by Cell’s grasp, his coat which was jungle fatigue colors was torn at both sleeves exposing his forearms as well as being ripped in various other places. Blood streamed from his face, one eye was clinched close and blood ran freely from it as well as his mouth and nose. His head hung limply from his neck, and he struggled to lock eyes with Cell.
"Ah, you again. When will you realize that it is hopeless to try and stop me? You may have prevented my becoming stronger once before, but that was by sheer luck. In this situation, you have no chance, you should’ve realized that before anything! But now it is too late, and you are going to die Deadeye!" Cell said, and put a hand up to the boy’s chest. "Hmm, when have I done this before? Oh yes! I did this to Piccolo that day years ago…but he survived…" Cell stopped, as if considering.
"Let’s just hope that this time YOU DIE!!!" With that, another blast came from his hand. Kusanagi was once again blinded by the tremendous energy, but he heard a horrible scream. Once the light had died down, he looked to see Cell still holding him. Only now he gaped in horror at a large hole through the boy’s chest, his breathing had ceased, and his eyes were a lifeless white.
"Ku….Kusa……nagi……….run….ple……" The boy managed to choke out. Cell gave one last hard look at him and then drew back his hand and threw him seemingly across Tokyo…Kusanagi looked on in shock, and suddenly he felt extremely pissed at this merciless monster.
"…You….YOU SONOVA BITCH!!!!!" Kusanagi yelled and was upon his opponent in less than a second, however before he could cut right across Cell’s neck an elbow rammed itself into his gut, sending him flying once again. Except this time he didn’t hit a rooftop, but rather plummeted 27 stories to the ground. He looked up from his spot atop a now crushed Porsche to see Cell floating down, a tail had somehow appeared and it ended in a sharp looking point.
"Momiji…what’s wrong?" Kome asked as she walked up behind her. Momiji had been staring in the direction of the city for a whole minute.
"I dunno, just something…feels wrong." Momiji said and continued to stare. They were outside Tokyo at a lake, and they were all enjoying a conversation on the docks amongst themselves. At some point Momiji had just wandered off and Kome had spotted her standing there staring.
"Hmm, I don’t see anything." She said. "Hey wait a second what’s tha…" She barely had time to speak before something flew right between them and smashed into the ground about twenty yards behind them resulting in a huge explosion of debris sending them both falling forward to the ground. They both got to their feet then ran over and looked down into the enormous crater that had been made. Kome then saw someone in the middle of it.
"Shit! Momiji go and get the others!" Kome said as she jumped over the edge of the crater. Momiji ran off towards the docks. They returned shortly, Kome had dragged the person up, it was Deadeye. However to them he was a large unknown.
"What the hell?" Kunakida said as he crouched down and looked at Deadeye’s wounds. "Jesus! What in God’s name did this to him?!"
"Momiji what happened?" Ryoko (Takeuchi mind all you Tenchi fans!) asked her.
"We were just standing here when I felt something strange, and then this…what?!" She shouted as she spotted bits of debris suddenly float up into the air around Deadeye. Kunakida backed off as he spotted them too. Suddenly A blue light surrounded him and when it faded nothing but his clothes were worse for the ware.
"…who is this?" Yaegashi asked rather nervously, which was the exact question they all had in mind, then suddenly Deadeye’s eyes (ß odd group of words right there.) opened and they all gasped in surprise. They looked on frozen to the spot as he got back to his feet. He then faced them.
"…he was what I was sensing!" Momiji suddenly broke the silence as she realized what she’d been sensing suddenly became overwhelmingly strong once he was there. "But if you’re here then why am I still feeling another one over there?" She said as she turned to look at Tokyo. She heard yet another startled sound from the others then turned back to see Deadeye was floating above the ground.
"Momiji Fujimiya, Kusanagi is in grave danger, I don’t know if I can stop it, but you can’t interfere. Just stay here, there’s nothing you can do." He said and then put his index and middle fingers to his forehead.
"Wait!" She said, but it was too late, he had already disappeared.
Kusanagi dodged yet another jab from the tail and was now out in the street. Cell came at him faster then he could register and Kusanagi found him self sailing through the air, his jaw nearly dislocated and his head spinning from the blow. He smashed through a building wall and into an office.
"What the hell?!" The random business person shouted angrily before he saw Cell enter, he then went pale and hid under his desk.
"Kusanagi, it is useless to resist, you are simply delaying the inevitable." Cell said grimly, his tail was right next to his head like a snake ready to strike. He didn’t know for certain, but he felt he had to avoid that thing at all costs. Cell began advancing slowly, an evil smirk plain on his face.
"…What kinda bullshit is that?" Kusanagi said and then lashed out with his fist, surrounded by a blue fire and hit Cell straight on in the face. Surprisingly Cell went flying and Kusanagi took that opportunity to make a hasty retreat. He quickly flew up into the air and was about to head toward where Momiji and the others were when Cell appeared out of thin air in front of him and deftly grabbed him around the neck.
"Nice try." He said, his tail hovered about a foot over Kusanagi’s head now. He looked up, and the needle morphed into a funnel before his eyes, but before he could do anything about it, it had slammed over his head. He yelled but his voice was blocked out. "But it ends noAAAH!" Suddenly Kusanagi could see again. He saw that very same boy, except now with brown hair, floating in front of him, bolts of lightning dancing around his hand.
"That hit will only shock him! Get away from here! NOW!!!" Deadeye shouted. Kusanagi paused for a second, then gave a mute nod and flew off. Deadeye looked at Cell who had been knocked down to the ground by the lightning spell. Cell recovered, and the two warriors were face to face in a matter of seconds.
"Deadeye, your durability amazes me." He said flatly.
"I’ll put yours to the test in a minute!" Deadeye replied, Cell stared at him for a few seconds than laughed out loud.
"Oh really?! Just how are you going to thAAAAAHH!!!" Cell shouted, a fist had seemingly appeared from nowhere and hit Cell dead on in the face, it has substantial force behind it. He glared back at Deadeye coldly.
"Lucky shot kid. I’m going to have to stop putting my guard down to when I’m bragging." He said and wiped the blood from his mouth. A ki field began to form around Deadeye and his hair turned gold and stood on end. "You’ve tried that before, IT WONT WORK!!!" But then the ki field burst with energy nearly sending Cell flying backwards in the air. He looked in surprise at the now level two super sayjin floating in front of him.
"There’s one thing you have to remember about us Sayjin Cell, when we come back…" Deadeye started but then disappeared. "We come back ten times as powerful!" He continued from behind Cell and then dealt a mighty blow to Cells back, sending him careening into a building. Finally, this fight was even. Normally Cell’s personality would’ve relished in this kind of a challenge, but he had more important things to attend to, like absorbing that damned aragami!!! He rose slowly from the wreckage and looked his opponent in the eye once again.
"Good for you, now maybe you can stand a chance."
"I assure you Cell, I’ve got more than a chance."
"Ah, confident are we? I’ll admit, I may have some difficulty disposing of you now. However I know one thing all you fighters share. You wouldn’t dare use your full power on me when there are millions of innocent bystanders around." Cell said mockingly
"That’s true." Deadeye said, and then pointed towards the ground. Cell looked down. They were in a barren desert rather then Tokyo. "How…on…Earth?!" Cell stuttered. His eyes shot wide open as he came to the conclusion Deadeye must’ve used Instantaneous Movement on him and himself faster then he could register!
"But I’m free to use it here." Deadeye stated, smirk plain on his face. Suddenly, Cell wasn’t so cocky anymore…
"Stop!" Momiji shouted, Kome slammed on the brakes and brought car to a stop, inches from a fire hydrant.
"Kome careful this is my car!" Kunakida said.
"Well when someone yells stop all of a sudden you KINDA tend to slam on the brakes!" Kome replied angrily. "What is it now anyway?"
"I...they both just…disappeared…" Momiji said.
Kusanagi looked around, they couldn’t possibly have gotten that far away by now could they? He had sensed some thing…weird when he was near those two. But now he couldn’t seem to find it at all. He jumped up and resumed flying to where Momiji and the rest of the TAC had been, maybe they knew something, but then…
"Kusanagi!"
"Huh?" He muttered as he looked down and saw Momiji standing by Kunakida’s car waving up at him. He quickly landed. "Momiji some really weird stuff has beHOOF!" He said as Momiji practically rammed into him and threw her arms around him.
"Oh God I was so worried!" she said as she looked up at him. He smiled.
"I’m okay, but like I was saying some really weird stuff is going on. First off this big green SOB calling himself Cell attacked me, and he nearly absorbed me, or whatever. I just know that he doesn’t want to kill me. If it hadn’t been for this one guy he supposedly killed before I would’ve been…"
"Did this guy have brown hair and was wearing a camouflage coat?" Momiji asked suddenly.
"No, he had blonde hair but you’re right about the coat…wait a second he did have brown hair after Cell blasted him! How did you know anyway?"
"Kome and I were just standing there talking when he flew right between us and hit the ground so hard it made a crater. And he was dead! But then he just seemed to heal himself back to full health in an instant! He said you were in trouble! And then he just disappeared! That’s when I sensed him over here so we came to help but then they both just disappeared!" Momiji explained.
"God, what the hell is going on?!" Kusanagi said with a certain amount of frustration.
"OOOAAAAAHH!!!" Cell shouted as yet another punch connected with his head and sent him spinning only to receive a kick in the back which promptly made him eat dirt. He sensed Deadeye coming in behind him but zanzokened into the air, all Deadeye foot hit was ground causing it to crack into a small fissure.
"MAKKENKOUSAPO!!!" Cell shouted and unleashed Piccolo’s attack, Deadeye easily slapped it away as it was about to hit him.
"KAME HAME HA!!!" Deadeye retaliated quickly with a shot that hadn’t been charged. But it was apparently enough to get the job done when it hit Cell hard enough to make blocking it a time consuming task. Suddenly Deadeye was behind him and kneed him in the back and got out of the way as the shot exploded in Cell’s face. He waited on the ground patiently for the smoke to clear. When it did Cell was still there, a little roughed up but still ready to go.
"Deadeye, you’ve certainly improved." Cell said almost approvingly. "How about we take it up a notch!?" Cell continued, and then started powering up.
"So were they Aragami?" Yaegashi asked Kusanagi.
"That’s what I thought at first, but then I couldn’t see or sense a single metama on either of them! They’re not even using energy from Metamas." He replied, looking down at the Metama that had burned through his glove. Then some unforeseen force seemed to tear his gaze in some direction and he felt the same energy again, it was incredibly large, and he could feel the other one too. Momiji had sensed the same thing. Kome looked at them oddly from her spot in the car, predictably loading a gun.
"God dammit what is wrong with you two today?!"
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Cell yelled as he powered up, the ground quaked below them and a crater had formed around him. He was now thoroughly larger than before.
"Fell for your own trick Cell, you won’t be fast enough to UUNGH!!!" Deadeye started but ate his words as a fist as big as his head sent him stumbling backwards to the ground. He’d come at him faster than he could see! He got to his feet, his vision blurred, only to be knocked down again. Then Cell was standing over him, and kicked him in the side hard enough to skip him over the ground a few times. Deadeye tried to get back to his feet but then a knee practically broke everything in his chest and he landed face down.
"I wouldn’t be too sure of that Sayajin." Cell said mockingly. Deadeye struggled to get to his feet, but could only lift himself up a few inches. His strength was totally sapped and he felt consciousness slipping away.
No, get up, don’t close your eyes! You’ll die if you do! Said one voice inside his head.
You need rest, your body can’t handle anymore, rest… said another. His mind was listening to the first one but his body seemed to be listening to the second.
"it…cant…end…like…this…" Deadeye found himself saying out loud through partially bloodied grit teeth. He lifted himself up again, and managed to get to his knees.
"Oh but it already has ended. You’ll die in a matter of moments, I can sense all your energy slowly slipping away. The only reason I’m here anymore is to ensure that you don’t used that cursed healing spell on yourself again!" Cell said in response, by now Deadeye had one foot flat on the ground and was leaning on it, trying with all his might to get back to his feet.
"I…wont…let it…" He muttered. A faint golden aura was surrounding him once again. Suddenly Cell’s head snapped to attention in the direction of Tokyo.
"Ah, but I must not forget my prey. You got lucky today, rather than suffering slow and painfully, right now you’ll die." Cell said and then brought his open palm to bear on Deadeye, a white orb formed in it. Deadeye was back on his feet and spat out some of the blood in his mouth. "Gooood, I’d rather kill a standing opponent than a grounded one, it feels more satisfying, farewell!" With that the orb burst, unleashing a beam of energy ready to incinerate Deadeye. Time seemed to stop, and Deadeye saw every detail of what was happening, the gigantic beam coming his way, the debris that had been tossed around…
He knew that if he waited too long he would already be dead. Then his universe, his family, his friends, would have no chance. Everything was riding on this moment, everything. Cell had once stated he was the universe’s end, when he’d made that statement he was in our universe. Now he was the end of everything, every world of every universe was riding on his shoulders. The human half of him cried out in despair.
But his Sayajin part was outraged by this, a challenge so important yet so impossible! All this power and it was nothing right now, he was useless, there was nothing he could do!
"Nothing." He muttered. The word seemed to bounce around his head, destroying every rational thought of hope he’d ever had. But there was one part of him still enraged rather than despairing. A Sayajin that could do nothing in a fight, how pathetic. Now despair seemed to be waning, being consumed by anger.
Nothing.
You’re pathetic, even the likes of Vegeta had some pride in their power.
Nothing!
Sayajins have been known universally for their power, you’re the trash of the race…
Nothing!!
…And you will die with the rest of the trash.
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
"HYYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
As suddenly as it had started the moment ended. The beam came at him full speed. He was filled with the urge to act, and he did so! Nothing seemed to get in his way, no injuries or inhibitions. Pain was nothing but a meaningless nervous system response now. A gigantic blast of ki went at the beam and shattered it. Cell dodged out of the way of the blast and looked at Deadeye.
"…what is this power that’s suddenly appeared!?" Cell said, as he now saw the brilliant golden hair hanging down to Deadeye’s knees. His injuries were gone leaving only blood stains on his clothes. His eyes were cast straight at Cell, delivering a cold stare that seemed to slice right through to is very core and make it shiver. He’d known what happened when Gohan surpassed, truly surpassed, the power of a super sayajin. Some trigger had been pulled. Evidently he’d backed his adversary into a corner once again. For now Deadeye seemed to have gone beyond what Gohan had achieved, and for the second time in his existence, Cell was genuinely intimidated…
"What the hell!!" Kunakida exclaimed as the ground rocked underneath him. A huge wave of some unseen energy passed over them, breaking the windows of buildings and flooring them when it passed. Slowly both Momiji and Kusanagi got to their feet and gazed mutely where they had both sensed the energy.
"…it’s…incredible…" Momiji muttered.
"…yeah…" Kusanagi agreed.
"No!! It’s impossible!!!" Cell raged as he blasted shot after shot of ki at Deadeye. They all hit their mark, but they seemed to all bounce off some unseen barrier and impact safely away from him. Cell flew up into the air.
"KAAAAAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEEEEE…." And orb of energy began forming in his hands. A look of desperate insanity was on his face.
"HAAAAAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEEEEE…" The orb burst in size until it was covering most of the sky in his vision. But still Deadeye looked up undeterred by the blasts massiveness.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" From space, a large blue sphere was seen hurtling straight at the Earth. Cell watched as it engulfed Deadeye, but then slowed it’s advance, and then stopped altogether. Then a blast of energy surrounded it and it careened upward, Cell watched as it grew smaller and smaller until a huge explosion covered the skies, turning them yellow. Cell looked down in horror, Deadeye looked back, he’d casually caught it and threw it. Then suddenly something else caught Cell’s attention, Kusanagi’s power. A simple plot formed in his mind and he flew up to where the sun was behind his back.
"SOLAR FLARE!!!" He yelled, Deadeye was already half way to him and he covered his eyes. The world around him went white, he brought his fist back and punched at Cell as hard as he could. The air was distorted by the force of the blow, but suddenly the flare died out. Deadeye hadn’t hit anything, and Cell was gone, suddenly he picked up Cell’s power signature back in Tokyo. He abruptly disappeared.
Back in Tokyo they were being treated to quite a light show. The tremors came hard, knocking them all down every time, and then that gigantic orb had formed out of nowhere and flew off into space after almost plunging into the Earth.
"Should we do something?…Can we do something?" Momiji asked.
"…No, I’ve got a feeling that this is something beyond any of us." Kusanagi replied grimly. Then they both sensed something close…something, very close…something…
"We meet again Kusanagi."
"You!" Kusanagi shouted and whirled around, Cell then unleashed a wave of energy that knocked Kusanagi off balance and sent Momiji flying back a few feet. Cell’s tail morphed into a funnel and slammed down over Kusanagi’s head.
"NOOOOO!!!" Momiji cried out but it was too late, Kusanagi had already been sucked into Cell’s being. Light flared up around Cell and waves of energy began pulsating from him. They kept getting more and more powerful, his eyes glowed an eerie white…
"HWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!"
Deadeye appeared in front of Cell and made a punch at him but was blown back by the force of the mutation along with the rest of the TAC. They all would’ve been dead from the now incredibly massive waves of energy had it not been for a mana shield Deadeye cast on all of them. It pulsed as Deadeye tried to put out enough power to it to hold back the energy from killing them all. All the while, the silhouette of Cell was changing shape, huge spikes coming out of it’s back, it’s wings changing, and it’s voice became more and more distorted until it was something entirely different. Deadeye heaved with the effort of sustaining the shield, and just when he thought he couldn’t keep the effort up any longer it suddenly became easy, and he realized it was over. The shield dissolved and Deadeye dropped to his knees trying to catch his breath. His hair returned to normal Super Sayajin.
He got to his feet. Before him stood a terror, more monster than a fighter now. His now catlike green eyes stared over them. His face seemed to be shrouded in darkness, and his wings encompasses his body like a cloak. Then he focused his eyes straight on Deadeye, they sent a chill up his spine.
"Until we meet again…" He said, but his voice sounded like two voices, that of Cell, and that of an infamous aragami named Orochi. Suddenly Cell vanished. Deadeye stood there, the wind whipping through his hair now that nearby buildings had been demolished from the transformation.
"…nnnNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" He screamed, bursting with massive amounts of ki in his frustration and then fell to his knees. "I still…couldn’t…do it…" His hair lost it’s golden brilliance and returned to brown. He punched the ground sending cracks through it in all directions. "GOD DAMMIT!!!!"
Just behind him and to his left, Momiji stood mutely petrified to the spot. It had all happened so fast. Suddenly this thing shows up and…and…
"Momiji, are you alright?" Ryoko asked as she walked up beside her. Momiji did not make a move to speak. "Momiji?" She repeated. A tear streamed down her cheek.
"He’s…gone…" She muttered. "…again…" The first time this happened, it had turned out all right, despite the fact that Morakumo had slashed him right through the middle repeatedly. But God, when she saw him fall limply from the mirror that one day she practically fell apart. Now there was no chance, that thing had him, and now it was gone. She sank to her knees, she felt like every living part of her had been wrenched out of her, and the hollowness was more than she could bear. "…forever…" she muttered. Then she found herself looking down at a pair of blue and gray shoes. She looked up to see Deadeye staring down at her.
"He’s not gone forever, he’s not gone at all." He stated simply. But it had no effect, her gaze dropped to the ground again and teardrops spattered against the ground. "I suppose your all curious as to what the hell is going on." He continued, most of them gave a mute nod. He went on to tell the story. After he was finished he received many an unbelieving stare.
"So your from a different universe entirely?" Yaegashi asked as he re-adjusted his glasses. Deadeye nodded. "Fascinating, so, is it some kind of different dimensions laid on top of one another?"
"I’m not sure, all I know is that Alpha found a way to get into them." He replied.
"What about Cell? What’s supposed to happen when he absorbs someone?" Kunakida asked, Momiji suddenly looked up in interest.
"I don’t know about that either, all I do know is that his power goes up phenomenally every time he does, and depending on who he absorbs he could gain new powers." Deadeye said.
"You said he’s not gone at all! What did you mean?!" Momiji said as she jumped back up to her feet, nearly knocking over Ryoko.
"I meant there was a way that we could get him back." Deadeye replied.
"How?!" She demanded forcefully and walked up to him.
"There’s nothing you can do Momiji." He said, reading her mind which at this point wasn’t incredibly difficult. "Only after I kill Cell can I get him back, and I promise you I…" He said but then paused as a look of concentration came to his face.
"What is it?" Ryoko asked. But before she was answered Deadeye disappeared…
