Here are a few pictures of different types of hay. All photos, except the orchard grass hay, are courtesy of the San Diego House Rabbit Society.

 

 

Timothy Hay

This is the best type of hay you can give your bunnies.

It should be fed in unlimited quantities.

 

 

Alfalfa Hay

This should be fed only as a rare treat. It is is high in

calories and calcium, both which are not needed in large amounts. It can also cause a sludge in the rabbit’s urine.

 

 

 

Oat Hay

Also another very good hay. Great at preventing GI stasis. Great source of fiber.

 

 

 

Bermuda Hay

Another good choice. Not as low in calories as Oat & Timothy, but still a good choice.

 

 

 

Orchard Hay

Another good hay, although a little harder to find.
