DRUIDLANDS: CHARACTERS: NPC's

LESTAT - (Thief/Assassin)

Being like most elves of his age and time period, Lestat grew up in Myth Drannor. While he was a young lad, he really didn't have much care in the world for anything. His family ran something like a general store, so he never got into the arts of fighting or spell-casting. However, he did get into the art of fast-talk, or "salesmanship", as his father would say. When the war broke out, he stayed with his family, instead of going off to fight. Being the only boy of his entire family, he felt obligated to stay and run the business. During the fall, things would change drastically for Lestat, and the rest of his life.

It was first his father that died. His friend, his mentor was killed because of supposedly helping the enemy. His mother and he were taken as slaves. On one fateful night, Lestat got his first taste of blood and anger. His mother was taken from their tent by one of the guards. While she was being raped, Lestat snuck into the tent, and using the guards own sword, stabbed him in the back. But the rage and the memories of his father were too much for him, so when he stabbed, he kept stabbing. And even though the guard was dead, Lestat unknowingly killed his mother too, as she was trapped under the guard.

He fled that night...he fled it all. He vowed on that night that he would spend the rest of his days doing everything in his power to see the death and the fall of humans.

Being as young as he was, and by himself, he taught himself how to thieve to survive. He got rather good at escaping also, because at first his thieving abilities weren't that great. The various times he was in jail or in prison, he learned more, just as anyone else would in prison. He was approached there one day by an elf and was hired for the first time to kill someone. He only asked one question. "Is it a human?" When the reply was yes, he didn't take the job for money. He took it for satisfaction. After the deed was done, he sought seclusion. He found a village in the High Forest, or what he thought was one. Looked more like a monastary to him once he got to the area. There, sitting in the background always watching and mimicking the maneuvers he saw being taught, he taught himself how to fight reasonably well. He taught himself the art of concealment as well.

He also saw and felt one thing that he was sure would escape him for the rest of his life...
