And the day dawned miserably. Grey, cold, wet and raining and that was just in the morning. It got worse as the day wore on. Despite the inclemency, the take-off attempt would still be taking place, but everyone realised that there was nil chance of any flight occurring.

This is a photo I took at Waitohi, as I was walking from the car park to the first flight venue.
