Banana Custard
Not exactly hard to make, but I thought I'd include it anyway.
Ingredients
2-4 bananas
500mls milk
30g custard powder
30g sugar
Instructions
- Place sugar and custard powder in a medium sized saucepan.
- Add a small amount of the measured milk and mix to a smooth paste, using a wooden spoon.
- Gradually stir in the remaining milk. Be careful at the beginning when the mixture is still thick, or you'll get lumps in it.
- Heat the custard over a low heat, stirring all the time.
- As the mixture begins to boil, the custard will thicken.
- Cook for a further minute, still stirring all the time.
- Remove from heat and place the lid on the pan, to stop a skin forming.
- Peel the bananas and slice them into a serving dish.
- Pour the custard over the bananas and decorate with grated chocolate, nuts or cherries, if you like.
